I don't understand: didn't you show us a body you and your Grandpa made? Or is that a body you're buying? Or wasn't that you?

no we were buying it, sorry if it didnt sound the way it was supposed to. :?
but we are actually getting a different one now some one got that one before us. we might have to do a bit of routing on it though cause im gonna turn the pickups around so the poles are reverse staggered. im not shure if theres enough room in fender pickup hole for that or not, but if there isn't we can fix it. we have the technology.

Okay, I didn't know what kind of story you were telling us!

If you get a body that's routed for a humbucker in the bridge position, you should be able to put a reverse-angled single coil in without any additional routing.

Oh wait a minute, you meant reverse staggered and not reverse angled, nevermind.

its not gonna be slanted different or anything. just turned around. and on all the pickups, so it would be like playing a lefty strat strung right handed. it gets a more voodooy tone, like jimi hendrix.

You might have to extend the wires (the pickup leads) a bit in order to turn them around.

That's a Standard MIM loaded pickguard, right? with ceramic pickups?

yes it is a standard MIM, but i think the wires will be just long enough. but if they're not it's easy enough to extend, i was thinking i might have to do that to. im really excited to start putting it all together i hope the last two pieces come tommorow. i kept running up to the top of my granparents driveway today to see if they had come yet but the hadn't :[

the neck is a real fender neck which is the reason I got it as opposed some cheaper necks ... the fender logo on my neck was put there by fender not a counterfitter

The bottom line is that the Fender logo is only allowed to be there for Fender-constructed guitars. Even the necks that Fender sells as piece parts do not have the Fender logo. That makes having a Fender logo on your piece-part guitar is copyright infringement. I have seen previously where similar threads have been shut down and locked with similar discussions.

Whatever you do is your own business. But I suggest this not be discussed any further in this forum. "Dad" is likely reading this ... and the topic is no doubt pissing him off... haha

Just to do this one more time (because there seems to be some confusion), if that neck came out of the Fender factory with a Fender logo on it, then it is perfectly legal and respectable. Even if the neck is no longer united with its original body and parts.

After all, we don't go around filing the Fender logo off bridges and tuners just because they are now on a different guitar than the one on which they emerged from the factory.

What is not OK is sticking an illegally made pirate decal on a non-Fender made neck, no matter how beautifully built that neck may be, and even if it is "Fender licensed" - like Mighty Mite, for instance. It ain't a real Fender neck: don't put a fake logo on it. Simple.

It would be like putting a Levi tag on another company's jeans: we could all tell, you'd just look silly.

Here, once again, is HemiRam's self-build. All of us guitar nuts here can see at a glance that this is a very tasty and desirable instrument indeed: HemiRam didn't need to be so cheap as to put a fake logo on there to try and fool us. Kudos to you, HemiRam!:

thanks for the clarification. i kinda fidured the other guys clafifications were wrong cause by that explanation if you took off the strings that came from the fender factory then the guitar is against copyright laws. lol

the body and nut still havent come maybe later today though.

peace.

The neck plate gaskets were quite common on '80s Japanese Fenders.
