My Mex Fender Strat serial MN6253475.
The date stamped in the neck pocket is October 21, 1997
Its I think as candy apple red, kinda metallic.
I bought it used from a small music store here for $350 with a hardshell case included. Maybe a bit more than I should have paid according to a few people, but I have been going to that store for years and hes been really nice to me (given me lots of free stuff like strings, nuts, straps, etc.)

Anybody know anymore details about this guitar?

Thanks

I think a lot of the answer to your question is in the condition of the guitar. If it is in nice near-new condition and it plays well, how can anyone be chastised for paying $350 for any Fender Strat w/ a HSC??? Seriously...

Its in very good condition. Pickguard has some wear but what guitar doesn't? :)
Rosewood fretboard too. He had some others for more money with maple fretboards (I really wanted a maple fretboard and I played those but the one I ended up getting just felt right for me.

And as far as I know its stock, except for the 5 way switch that I changed last night (the other one felt kind of "mushy").

This is my first Fender (I've always been an LP guy), None of the others I've tried out felt right to me. This one just felt like magic in my hands.

Thanks

Good going on the rosewood I say.
I prefer rosewood fretboard usually...
One reason is that it ages more gracefully in my opinion.
If u look at the older strats out there with maple fretboards...
U can see the wear & tear (some people might be into that look)
See my two examples below:
Example 1:

Yeah, the wear thing was one of the reasons I wanted a maple fretboard.

But this one just felt SO good.
And I was only playing with 3 fingers (had recently done a nasty cut to my first finger with an x-acto blade a few weeks before so it was all bandaged up and such so I couldn't use it at all. 7 stitches).
But even with just those 3 fingers, as soon as I played it, I knew I HAD to have it.
You know the old saying : " You don't pick a guitar, it picks you".

Rule #1 never allow ur hands to be injured.
But if somthing's going to draw blood...
...only allow your guitar to be the one to do it. lol

Then again, never under estimate humans inspired by guitar!

Codemonk -

That color may or may not be Crimson Red. Those mid to late 90's (IMO) are very nice. I have a 98' that spoke the same language. I think you got a great deal. Hang on to Her!

Well..in a way my guitar kind of did it..sort of..
I was building my 2x12 cab and cutting the covering for it. Blade was dull, so I put in a new blade, then somehow, I moved my hands in the wrong way and cut myself :)
