From what I can remember I currently have:-

WEM Monitor Reverb Head
Burman Slave
Marshall JCM900 50W 1x12 combo
Marshall JMP-1 Rack Pre Amp
Samson Servo 120 Rack Power Amp
Peavey Backstage Plus
Marmac 5W 1x10 combo
Bugera V5
2x Fender Champion 600
Marshall DRP-1 Di preamp
Smokey Amp

I was only borrowing the Victory Countess

Oh and, apparently, I now also own a Marshall EL84 20/20 since an eBay bid this evening unexpectedly came home to roost. Dead chuffed as I've wanted one for years but (being discontinued) they aren't easy to come by....or at least not at price I was willing to pay for a second hand amp.

What (pre-amp) are you going to put in front of it, John? Will it go straight off a pedal board?

Cheers - Peter.

I want a Princeton Reverb RI, but I can't bring myself to spend a grand on what was a practice amp back when I was a kid.

Have you tried one? I tried the US-built blackface a little while ago, as I too remembered them from years ago, and it's a classy little combo - just what I wanted. GB price is the same in £ as you pay in $. Unfortunately it didn't sound like I remembered and I therefore gave it a miss. Of course, my ears have changed, but has the amp too?

Bought the Rectoverb 25 instead, as the clean channel sounds EXACTLY as I remembered! I don't bother with the distortion channel too much, but it has plenty of usable sounds should you dislike pedals.

Cheers - Peter.

Like ex-girlfriends and past cars. Best not revisited as it can destroy the rose tinted memories you have of them. The amp may well have been an accurate representation but not the representation that your rose tinted past has painted.

I currently gave a Peavey Classic 30 (good), Peavey Classic 50/410 (better) and a Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb Limited Edition (best).

You reminded me, fifty4, I had a Peavey Bravo, also a Peavey VTX, sometime in the 80's. I always liked Peavey stuff before they went overseas. How many other amps have I had that I'd forgotten about?!

John - yes, I expect you're right. Because of that, I've decided not to hunt down another Bravo...!

Cheers - Peter.

My C30 dates from the mid '90s and the C50/410 from 2003. Both made in the USA.

I still like my Peaveys but my tastes have changed and the DRRI is exactly what I need now. Also it is lighter than the C50/410!

My DRRI and my heavily customised Strat is a match made in heaven! For details of my Strat see

The final mod was made recently (see latest post) so the transformation was not quite complete when I originally made the post.

I have:
1967 BF Vibro Champ Nice amp, tremolo is wonderful, not to loud, need to use external reverb,
1969 SF Super Reverb I love this amp sounds great, just to loud for me right now
Mid 1980's M-80 Not a bad little amp, they're powerful, lightweight, and the clean is excellent - very Fendery. The downside to the M80s is the butt ugly gray carpet covering.
Acoustic 370 Bass Head not a bad Bass head given the right speakers
Line 6 Spider III 120-Watt, Bah what can I say, not so good it is what it is, but when I attach my 1967 BF Vibro Champ, to the 2 x 12 @ 4 ohms within the cabinet, disconnecting the line 6 amp from the speakers then it becomes a very good sounding amp.
Wollensak T-1500 Reel to Reel Now this can be a lot of fun to use as a guitar amp, talk about break up, man this thing gets some tube distortion at low volume, I have used it before my SR input and it does become tube screamer, it make me laugh it so much fun

I recently bought a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 2x12 III in order to keep my other 2 amps from getting beat up in bar gigs. I have an original custom shop Prosonic and an early 1990s Tone Master. I'm an American Standard Strat purist - no mods, only ones that play and sound special.
