Since the late 50's onwards, as far as I can remember!...

1. Selmer Truvoice, with elliptical speaker. Abused and later junked, now worth lots of money!
2. Vox AC15. Started smoking after an hour. Switch off until it cools down. For short gigs only!
3. 50 TOP (50w top with single 18" cab), as per http://www.chambonino.com/work/carlsbro/carl1.html. Rare amp, never seen another one.
4. Peavey 65w Bandit (tranny combo). Early 80's, when they were US-made.
5. Fender Super Reverb 4 x 10.
6. Marshall JCM900 2 x 12 combo and separate 2 x 12 cab. Bit more portable than '5'!
7. Many years going straight to PA from pedal board via DI box, or later Line 6 Pod XTLive. Acceptable sounds and oh-so-easy to transport and set up!
8. Fender Blues Jr, with Cannabis Rex speaker and BillM standby mod.
9. Mesa Rectoverb 25 combo. Currently using this and see no reason to change - it does everything I want.

There may have been others but I can't recall off the top of my head. Not sure what this trip down memory lane has to do with a Strat forum, but you asked, Roger! :)

Cheers - Peter.

A Watkins Westminster (5 watt valve)
Watkins Dominator (17 watt, 2 channel 4 input with tremolo)
Selmer Treble'n'bass 50 head (valve) and a 2x12 cab no name
Fender Bassman top into a custom made 4x12 cab loaded with 4 Audium 61 bass speakers (matching serial numbers)
Laney 30 watt tranny amp (pile of junk, lasted a week)
Peavey 60 watt wedge shaped amp (this was a guitar amp not a monitor ...never seen another like it ...very LOUD)
McGregor 100 watt Tranny amp
Peavey stage 110

As I don't own any vintage amps, I can only go by what I have owned.
My current favorite "clean" with no pre/high gain" are my modern Fender 68 Custom Vibrolux and 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb. I prefer the "feel" of the silver-face amps, they have a sensitivity to how I play my guitar and respond better imo and ears. :)

For "high gain" amps I love Engl. One of their high gain models will likely be my next amp.
The high gain distortion has a unique tonal quality that is gutteral, distinctly different to something like a Marshall high gain.

Why don't you post over in the amp forums? You'll get lots more responses.

I've been using a Victory Duchess head today and have to say I am much liking it. Much more gain available than I will ever need but so impressive that, even at high gain, it retains note clarity and separation without it becoming mush.

Boogie Mark series amps.
Sorry, I adore that clean sound. It's like perfection of what Leo wanted, to my ear.
Marshall 2203's.
That's all I need.

Currently have
1958 Watkins Clubman. Perfect 50's rock n roll raunch. Original mullard caps and valves
Marshall Class 5 (limited edition Bullseye). Everyone makes a mistake
18 watt lite Watkins Dominator/ Marshall 1974 sort of thing. Bored wanted to build an amp
1973 Marshall Superbass. Got it cheap, don't even own a bass
1979/80 Marshall JMP2203. Perfect ACDC
Marshall 2203KK (much modded). More gain than anything I've heard ever. All the push of a traditional Marshall and capable of modern metal sounds
Mesa Mark V. Gotta have something that does clean sounds. This does everything really well
