I agree it looks legit. It isn't the sort of guitar someone is going to fake and the price seems about right. It is very much an aquired taste and, if from a dealer, might have just been hanging about for too long.

Why don't you think it's real?

It's either used or as John Sims said it's been hanging around the shop so long the dealer sold it for the typical used price.

Like a lot of these "special editions" Fender does it's not going to bring much more than the typical used price of a "plain" MIM Standard just for that special paint job. And the price you paid is a typical used guitar price for a guitar that has a $700 MAP price. Also, most people don't pay the MAP price; they get some kind of discount off that price from their dealers on new items.

You have to know how are built Fender Guitars. Many model over years.
What 's electronics are use by Fender, pots and pickups.
You need to see many pictures from the seller. And under the pickgard.

There are no receipt in few word here. You have to do your own study with Google.
If you don't know, buy only from a good reputation store.

As others have said, if the model is a less expensive model, and also out-of-the-ordinary, it's unlikely to be a target for forgers. The print on this one would make it much more expensive for counterfeiters to produce, and the already low price means less profit.

With the David Lozeau special run, Fender overestimated how well the red one would sell, and after a while, it was sold discounted at several stores. The other two Lozeau models (blue and cream) appear to have sold out quicker.

As for the price being low, sometimes there are good deals to be had if there are no bidders. A Fender Select in excellent condition went for $100 recently, because that was the only bid. Normal market value would be more like $1800-2000.
