Hi there, how can I know which kind of pickups (Alnico or ceramic) has my Stratocaster MIM S/N MZ8141009?

Thanks
Ivano

If your guitar is from the "Classic" series ('50s, '60s, '70s) the pickups are rare-earth alnico types. Most of the other Strats made in Ensenada are equipped with ceramics.

That's not entirely correct - the MIM Standard series did have ceramic pickups in 2008-2009, but in addition to the Classics there were several MIM's with AlNiCo pickups. Jimmie Vaughan, Deluxes (Player, Power, Fat, Roadhouse) - and probably others, too.

So, to ivanodef: you can email the serial number to consumerrelations@fender.com - they can provide the original specs for that serial.
Or tell the forum what exact model the guitar is.

BTW, "ceramic" doesn't automatically mean "worse than AlNiCo"...

It's precisely correct.

I did use the qualifier "most".

Perhaps you missed it in your haste to expound.

Just trying to help the OP, if that suits you.
Besides, you didn't specify if the "most" in your answer meant "most units produced" or "most model series".
