You think so? sometimes it looks cheesy, sometimes it doesn't. I think when the headstock is baked, and glossed it looks the best. The old one is classy with stratocaster in a straight line and small. look up the Jimi Hendrix strat for 899. That is just perfect if it wasn't reversed lol. the fender logo, can be in black, grey or brown and it'd still be classy. something about the roadhouse strat is ugly and rubs me the wrong way. I also just realized I don't like the bullet... Okay I'm gonna shut up before i reveal my future fender custom shop strat lol

In my opinion, the smaller straight-line type font 'Stratocaster' only looks good on 50s-style Strats with the Spaghetti 'Fender' logo, and as such I think the big Transitional 'Fender' logo (and similar 70's style) looks hideous on smaller headstocks.

Yeah, she hot! Here's my '72 reissue, to me it's more like a '75 because of its cut and contour.

I'm not sure if the 10 of 15 "American Vintage 70s Hardtail" was the same guitar as the "American Vintage 70s" first version...

It is a sort of "inspired by" but no more accurate than that. It has a four screw satin finish neck with modern MiA T saddles, conventional truss rod (no bullet head) and modern tuners. I also has a five position switch.

Of the period features the large headstock (with swoopy logo) and 70s non reverse wound PUPS about sum it up. IIRC the second tone control is only wired to the middle PUP as well. It obviously has a hard tail but I don't really consider that a period feature as such.

Correct. To me that 10 for '15 model was probably the most poorly-named Fender model there has ever been. It was a hard-tail American Special with '70s-style pickups; outside of the pickups there was nothing "vintage" or "reissue" about it at all. All the other specs were identical to the American Special except for the hard-tail bridge of course.

Just got the strat, first impressions: very solid sounding axe. The sound without it being plugged in is a little tighter, and warmer than the roadhouse. The neck is great, a little fatter than id like, but nowhere near as distracting as the roadhouse. The radius feels like a 9.5 rather than a 7.25. So far, better guitar for me than the roadhouse. These mexican classics are great. Keep up the great work fender! ill upload a picture soon

They play pretty nice. I suppose the jumbo frets and 9.5" radius helps, unlike the original and vintage 70s series. The 'Highway One' is nice too, not sure if they're still around.

So he was half right then (medium jumbo != jumbo)

The glass can be 'half empty' or 'half full' however way you look at it, but certainly aren't small frets nor a 7.25" radius.

No one have said anything about small frets. You said they're jumbo frets, which they aren't - they're medium jumbo. And medium jumbo are small frets, despite the name. They're wide, but they're the lowest Fender has ever used.

In the below picture of Fender fret wire, 6100 is jumbo, and 6130 is medium jumbo:

^^That's cool if you want to get all technical and compare height against width. In that case it's Jumbo width! I knew the Roadhouse and Highway One Strats aren't small frets nor with a 7.25", the frets are described as 'jumbo' in some sort, least bigger than the smaller vintage frets.

I am keeping the Classic series 70s, not the roadhouse.
