Hi, I just bought a Road house deluxe, I don't like the guitars neck at all. its really flat. I was thinking can I buy the 70s classic series, and put the innards of the Roadhouse in it (buy it separately). The thing is. Where would I put that battery pack, can it go inside the housing? Also, I don't do any tremolo effects, is the 2 point bridge really better than the 6 point bridge? thanks in advance.

Better to buy a neck separately than to crap up two guitars trying to make one good one. You'll find Classic Series '70s Strat necks on Ebay, often for less than $300. There's no practical way to stuff an active preamp into a guitar body without routing a cavity to accommodate the battery and components.

Are you sure I saw four holes, can you not bypass the center hole? Can anyone attest to this? Thanks

It is what it is. The three-bolt neck is a hallmark of the Strats built during the 1970's, just as the bullet truss-rod adjustment at the headstock. It is possible to adapt this neck for a conventional four-bolt installation but the job is best left to a qualified luthier.

A skill person can make a 3 bolt neck to a 4 bolt neck.
You need the 4 hole neck plate and fill ( if needed) 2 holes and drill news ones.

Nah, the neck has five holes. Conventional 4, and the center hole. I saw it on ebay.

I just pulled one up on Stratosphere - yep, it has 4 guide holes in the wood plus of course the hole in the micro-tilt plate. I wasn't aware they were drilling them that way at the factory - either that or Stratosphere is pre-drilling them so you can go either 4-bolt or 3-bolt.

Bottom line is it should be easy for you to put one of them on your Roadhouse body - that makes more sense than trying to fit the Roadhouse electronics in the Classic 70s body.

The fifth hole is the micro tilt adjustment screw

I've browsed the ebay store called The Stratosphere many times and I bet they can help you out. Here is a linkhttp://stores.ebay.com/The-STRATosphere
well I posted this without reading to the end of the messages. Sorry.

Stratosphere dismantle guitars and sell the parts. They are, in effect, second hand hence why the holes are there.

Right - but from the factory a Classic 70s would have the 3-bolt attachment using the 2 top holes and the hole in the micro-tilt. I wasn't sure if FMIC was drilling the 2 bottom holes at the factory of if Stratosphere was adding them after they dismantled the guitars.

I looked at it closely. It ISNT a Classic series 70s. If you look at the Roadhouse Deluxe the back neck plate is a lot different than other strats, which is another issue. even if it was four screws it wouldn't fit lol.
