Hey whats up guys,

I finally was able to purchase my first Fender Strat. I got a really good deal on the guitar, but am not sure what model I have. Based on the serial number I can tell that it is a 2011 model (US11+6 digits). But I was hoping you guys could help me identify what model I have. Below are a few links some pics of my guitar. Please let me know what you think.

It appears to be a 2011 American Standard.

Thanks Lawflow,

I appreciate you taking a look at it. Just for my own personal knowledge, would you mind telling me what about the guitar makes it an American Standard. Is the headstock the biggest indicator? I was looking around on google, but was just getting confused. Thanks again man.

No it's the culmination of things. There are things about the neck. The bridge, the saddles, the control pots and the backplate.
That headstock in that format has featured on a few guitars from the catalogue over the years.

I have a 2014. They're very nice. Let's see - the headstock has the correct decals and tuners; one string tree; Corona neck plate; serial number is correct format and sequence; body shape consistent; and before 2012, the pickguard and other plastic parts were the same color. I believe parchment white. In 2012, they changed the other plastic parts to antique white and the pickguard remained parchment. In 2012, they also changed the pickups to Custom Shop Fat 50's. Someone will have to chime in what yours are. Some prefer the Fat 50's (I love them), others like what you have. It's a preference thing.

Go to the Fender Website for more info down in their Customer Support area below. They have prior year catalogues and you can e-mail them directly. Enjoy. Looks like a nice one. Is that Candy Apple Red?

Correct. See my post. It looks identical to my American Standard in appearance except for color and aged plastic parts. Pots and pickups, obviously can't tell.

Looks like the color is Candy Cola and the pickups are Alnico V pickups. I think Candy Cola sounds pretty awesome haha.

Yes, nice color. Too bad it was discontinued. That makes it unique. That sounds right on the pickups. Those are great guitars.

Indeed.

Candy Cola was one of FMIC's prettier contemporary Strat finishes.

Definitely American standard.

22 frets, one string tree, correct decals, serial n, modern bridge+vintage saddles, corona back neckplate, micro tilt.
