I forget, John......is that third guitar Sonic Blue or Surf Green?

Looks cool as all get-out!

Thanks, Arjay. It's a Surf Green Classic Series 50's.

It was an exceptional day in Ensenada when they finished finishing that Strat. 8)

+1000....Could not agree more John! The Surf Green on my 50's Classic Series looks more like it was dipped not sprayed, it is so even and perfect and so is yours!

The Classic Series 50s Surf Green finish holds its own against the darker Surf Green finish on a 2013 Special Run American Standard I bought a few years later. It's that good.

arjay- I notice you have the bridge covers on your strat- something my early 60's strat had. very cool.

were those original to the guitars? I thought that most newer fenders could not use them. my strat is a 2012 usa satin honeyburst. I was thinking about adding one on.

It's a Partsocaster I built a couple of years ago.
2004 American Deluxe neck from eBay. (Stratosphere)
Body & plate from Warmoth
Got the arm from Overdrive.
Don't know if it's a Hank Marvin arm or not.

I posted a build thread on this forum a couple years ago.
The guitar has seen a couple of wiring changes since the original build.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

That 1st pic of the blackface vibrolux (65?) with the aqua colored (I know that's not the proper name of color) strat is just stunningly awesome. Care to share a little info on this combo?

Thanks
JAG

Sure.

The guitar is a MIM Classic 50's Strat from 1998. Originally Surf Green, I had it professionally refinished in Taos Turquoise (a Ford color used on the Lincoln Excelsior in 1956). The pickups are noiseless DiMarzio's and all of the hardware is US-spec MIA Fender.

The amp dates to January of 1966 and drives a pair of OEM Fender-marked Jensen C10NS speakers with the original cones. When I got the amp it had been "updated" with silverface cosmetics which where shortly changed back to the original blackface guise with a new front panel and aged-white repro grill cloth from Rodgers Amps.

Together they're a great combo.

Arjay
