Hello Mr.Bill,
I am still using the Super 250s, I usually play 10s, and the 250s feel more like 11s, so I'm going to stick with'em for a while

Right now I think it takes 1.57 U.S. to buy 1 Euro

Hello there

I just bought a new Fender Stratocaster vintage hot rod 57’ “the red one”.
My little brother scratched with his claw the sign which says “original vintage” on the top side of the fingerboard near the keys and it took out……
I didn’t know that it was just a sticker……..
Do you know what can I do to fix that again? Where should I go?

Please send me an email at: ioan_balab@yahoo.gr

I am so sad now, I ruined my beautiful guitar :-(

You give all that money to buy a Stratocaster and the sign is just a sticker.

Regards
John

Hello Moulos,

I've never seen a sticker on a 57
that says "original vintage".

Too bad your little brothers
claws aren't shackled.

Cheers.

Perhaps you can trade your brother for a Custom Shop guitar of your own design.

Doc. :P

Dear Friends

I will upload some photos to understand better what I mean
I have circled with red color the place that the sign was.
Now half of the original decal is missing
Do you know what should i do to get again an original decal?

Hey, Sandwich: come to England for a Strat. SoundsLive in Newcastle are selling Mr Bill's 62 for £999: that is merely double what he paid for his -

Man: on some other recent comparisons, I had thought that the days of buying guitars in America and carrying them home were over. I guess on these slightly less "standard" models that ain't so... Hmmph...

i tried that after a gig in portland, left a encore strat backstage after the gig in the morning bought a pawn shop strat for $450 about £300-350 at the time. when i got back to brum customs seized my guitar and demanded i pay import tax on it. They knew everything what guitar i'd took out and what i'd bought back and their prices. one impounded guitar unless i pay import VAT (normal vat in disguise) and customs duty. They have really tightend up on the cheap import buisiness.

you got an amazing deal

i have a 62 reissue in oly white (not the hot rod) and i paid like $1400

the fact that you got the thin skin for cheaper...i am def jealous...

in my opinion...the oly white strats with the mint green guard are the most beautiful instruments ever made!

enjoy it man!

*on a side note im down to start a american vintage reissue club!

i wrote a whole thread on how for some reason i never hear enough about them...its either as though people cant afford them...or take the money and blow it on artist models
(im sure they are nice but cmon...your favorite guitar heroes didnt learn to play on their own signature instrument!)

i believe that for the money, and short of getting a custom shop or vintage model (thousands of bucks more) this is the best guitar for the money that fender offers (the hot rod being that much cooler than mine)

OUCH! I know several people been got that way - including my brother-in-law. Unfortunately, those crocodiles at Customs know their stuff. American guitars, Persian carpets, Swiss watches: they've seen it all a thousand times and it just ain't worth trying to yank their plank.

"Officer, this vintage Les Paul Custom in my case is one and the same as the flimsy Tokai lookalike I took out of the country a few days ago..."

"I'm sure it is, Sir. Now just step over into this little room whilst I get my rubber gloves on. Till I let you out of here you belong to ME!"

Oo-er... - C
