Ok, I'll get more photos from him but he said that this is a 2004 Mexican Standard Strat

Probably worth a couple hundred $$$. Two and a quarter maybe.

Agreed. A pristine used standard Mexican Strat or Tele is in the vicinity of $300, and it can only go down from there. This one appears to have some lacquer damage around the top pickguard screw, which reduces the worth. The discoloration on the first fret bass side is also worth checking out - if it's just wood color difference, it's fine, but if it's due to spilling solvent or something like that, it isn't.
It also depends on how worn the frets are - pull the strings aside and look for grooves. If it needs a fret dressing (leveling/crown), that's easily $100, and thus that much off the sales price too. If it needs a refret, more.

Damn they are cheap over there. Your looking at £300 for a second hand MiM in the UK. That doesn't even pan out in my "What it is in dollars is what it will be in pounds" rule.

They're really a dime a dozen here in the colonies. Here's an ad currently on our local Craig's List......
