So today I purchased my first Fender, and I'm quite happy with her.

American made, Sandblast Strat in blue. She looks lovely, feels lovely, and sounds lovely as well! I'm very happy with the guitar and thought I'd share a couple of pictures.

And one that shows the finish a little better:

My photography definitely doesn't do her justice though. I just wanted to get back to playing her rather than taking pics.

Great start to your Strat collection.... that's a very cool and distinctive finish. I do like blue on a Strat. :)

Thanks guys. She sure does sound lovely through the Vox! Much nicer than the Line 6 they ran her through in the store.

As for the guit and the finish, it was a dark-ish room and I originally didn't see her until my wife pointed her out. I picked her up, tried her out and knew she had to be mine. If they're all this good I forsee more strats coming along eventually!!

Congrats on your "First". The finish certainly is different, be curious to see how it stands up over time. Enjoy it!

IIRC, the sandblasted finish was one of the 10 for 15 collection. 10 special issue guitars in 2015, of which they only made 500 of each. I may be wrong but either way it is a pretty special and unusual guitar. It took me 21 years to get my second Strat, the first was so good, perhaps dont wait quite that long.

Great score you got there, and your wife helped? Wow a double win! love that sandblasted ash finish, good combo with the Vox, play on. I was eyeing a trans crimson version, but it was too quick and got away.

This one very nearly got away from me as well to be honest.

I played it on the Friday, and fell in love, but we couldn't really justify it this month. I was only getting to look in there because we'd gone to visit the wife's family so it was my reward for behaving

I've been looking for a bit now at some strats and some tele's but was still probably a couple of months away from pulling the trigger. But I just couldn't stop thinking about this one. We left, and got back home (about 80 miles away), and first thing I did was head down my local store to try out another couple of strats. The one I ended up with had been the nicest feeling guitar I ever remember playing, and I wanted to see if that was the case with all MIA strats. So I tried a couple out, and while they matched tonally they just didn't feel as good, it was that point I realised exactly what I'd found. So we woke up early on Saturday and headed down for open of shop just to make sure it didn't get snapped up by somebody else!!

Now I just need to figure out her name so she can join the family properly!
