Wow...I just noticed that the prices on these models have dropped (lower than Standard) and many are now unavailable on several music retailers' websites. Why Fender, why??????

Summer NAMM starts today in Nashville; it could be that they are going to introduce a new MIM Deluxe series at the show or shortly after the show (since it's almost a month early this year).

Check out the Fender shop, there seems to be a revamp of the range.
The Deluxe Players, Lone Star, Roadhouse with Texas Specials and HSS Plus Top are all $499.99 and on the way out I guess.
There's a new version of the Roadhouse with vintage noiseless pickups and a plain Deluxe in SSS and HSS versions.

The American Deluxe Plus is also reduced to $1199.99 which might indicate Fender are abandoning the solderless pickups and personality cards.

We can only hope. Every time Fender strays too far from their basic instrument formula, they reel it back in a bit and go back to those basics!

There you go - they were likely waiting until after the doors opened at the show in Nashville this morning to post the new MIM Deluxe models on the website.

I've been expecting the Deluxe Strat Plus models to be dropped for a while now - even though they did drop those additional personality cards a few months ago. It's telling when they haven't run another batch of them in quite a while. But it's still not as quick as when Fender pulled the plug on the second Hot Rod Vintage series after only one year. I've seen reports of people paying as little as $850 for an American Deluxe Strat Plus - that's a steal for a USA Strat with locking tuners and a compound radius fingerboard - and leaves you plenty of cash to swap in a "normal" loaded pickguard if you choose to dump the personality cards/solderless wiring rig.

Actually, their replacements are pretty sweet. In some ways, they represent a bigger leap forward vs. The American Deluxe to American Elite change over (but of course, the old American Deluxe Series was already quite nice....IMHO). But with these recent changes, the MIM Deluxe series is "more deluxer" than ever.

The Deluxe Players Strat was renamed as the Deluxe Strat with a few juicy changes: a 22-fret neck with large headstock, 12'' fretboard radius and "all shortpost" lockers!

I keep looking at the Fender site and I don't see the new deluxe Strat. Does some one have a link they can post?

Fender pulled them from the USA website some time Friday afternoon/early Friday night. They were on the website from Thursday morning until that point in time that they were removed. Not sure what's going on - I assumed Fender introduced them at the NAMM show in Nashville on Thursday and posted them shortly after the doors opened at 10:00 am Central time.

It's possible that Fender pulled the page (temporarily) to fine-tune the text or update the photos. It's happened before.
