Hi all,

i'm in the process to buy a strat.
Loving the compound radius, during the last month i discovered in a guitar shop a nice Sonic Blue Channel Bound FSR American Standard, (nice finish, fat 50 pups, compound radius): i played it and i felt in love. Unfortunately the day after someone bought it.
I tried yesterday an American Deluxe Plus with personality card, (compound radius, locking tuners, Ice Metallic Blue), and a beautiful satin neck.
Now my questions:
1) The neck is wider than a neck of a MIA? (it seemed to me wider than the neck of the FSR Sonic Blue Channel Bound MIA). It was maybe an impression given to me by the maple board? (that i did not use many times in my life).
2) It's possible to change, (and this is just curiosity), the pick ups or not, due the solderless wiring?

I really like this guitar and i also consider the Cards really useful to achieve many sounds: but i will really appreciate your opinions about American Deluxe Plus neck vs MIA Standard neck.

Thanks

NickHM

The apparent difference in the necks could be the channel bound having slight differences to the usual American Standard.
Fender list several solderless pickups, like Fat 50s, Texas Specials, Select.
Whether this is all a bit experimental I don't know. I half expected the new Elites to go solderless but it didn't happen and the Plus models are reduced in Europe which is usually a sign they are discontinued.

Thanks, so channel bound feels narrower?
