According to one of our consumer relations gurus: "Yes. it does." Short and sweet. :-) Anyway, hope this helps!

Thats very versitile having H-S-H routing, I like that.

Do the MiM Strats have H/S/H routing also?

I do not believe there is an H-S-H made. But, if the MIM is H-S-H routed, then Fender is really missing the boat on making a low-cost MIM Strat Mick Mars signature model. They have all the ingredients in place to do it.

I bet they'd sell a million of 'em...

Nikininja posted pictures of a MIM Strat he was stripping to refin. It had exactly the same HSH route as my 2005 Am Series, right down to certain little circular cavities beneath the pickguard and inside the neck pocket.

The route comes from the program the CNC machine is running, and is not specific to any model or country of origin. Though I have a notion the humbucker cavity at the neck is there to allow for HH setups, rather than HSH.

Far as the HSH configuration is concerned: I have a frivolous theory that at a NAMM many years ago, after their legal disputes were well behind them, Fender and Ibanez sat down at the bar together one night and came to an informal agreement that Ibanez would mostly stay out of SSS setups if Fender kept away from HSH.

Of course, I'm not trying to accuse these hugely powerful brands of any illegal collusion. These are only my personal imaginings. But the models do seem to divide up that way, don't they?

Cheers - C

It means the wood is routed out so that it can fit:
Humbucker - bridge
Single coil - middle
Humbucker - neck
So u can Mod it later WITHOUT cutting the wood.

In the past strats were routed for only singles.
If you wanted a humbucker in there you had to cut out the wood.
I had to live through those days & did it to one of my strats in the bridge.
Back then you didn't see as many strats with humbuckers in the bridge.
I would have bought the HSS long before it was available.

I have always thought of getting a MiM for doing mods...
Just rip the guts out... whatever...
