Are they MIM? I quite like the look of the white one. I wonder what the DiMarzios sound like.

EDIT: I see they're USA.

Yeah, USA.

They look like modified Highway Ones.

I called a local Sam Ash store & asked when they will have one in stock.
The sales person told me his computer shows that samash.com will
recieve 2 Corgan strats on Tuesday July 22, 2008 give or take a day.

I would like to listen to the versatility of this guitar. Reading the Billy Corgan interveiw it sounds like a well rounded guitar. I don't se anyone in middle Georgia getting one in stock. I will probably have to go to a store up in the Atlanta area. Any Ideas besides Sam Ash, maybe The Guitar Factory?

yes...the Fender BC model has raised some interest and makes me want one...the reviews out of harmony-central.com have said this thing plays like butter right out of the box. The dimarzios are perfection according to some. I found Sam Ash has them along with Sweetwater. $1199.00

I'm not a huge fan of the Smashing Pumpkins, but I do like a lot of their songs. Corgan is an excellent songwriter and arranger. I particularly like Corgan's buzzsaw guitar tones from the early to mid-90's. That's why I'm going to buy this guitar (when they're finally stocked in adequate supplies).

It's simple but solid, provides the endless sustain I seek, and has the guts to achieve the humbucking-overdriven hard high-gain sound that I want to add to the crystal clear tones of my Fender American Deluxe Telecaster.

As far as I'm concerned, it's all about tone and quality. This guitar is a winner for certain players, especially for the price. I'll always back Fender products because they've never failed me.

I'm interested in comments by people who already own or who've played this model.

Anybody know when more of this model will be shipped to retail outlets? Everyone's out of stock right now.

i have the olympic white version. i got it here in sacramento at my local guitar center. they had both of the choises black and white. as for the guitar itself i couldn't be happier. it's a very loud strat, the pick-ups are hot and have a nice warm tone, it sounds great through my twin. it also comes with a vintage tweed case that's orange inside. a fender monogram strap, polish cloth, tools and it was well worth 1300(with tax it was 1298)
love the pumpkins love this axe!!!!!!!!

Are you able to get Corgan's early 90's "buzzsaw" tone? How is the sustain? Does it feel comfortable? Thanks.

well let's see..... the buzzsaw tone. the answer is yes especially when doing a jelly bean or pinch harmonics. it is by far the most comfortable strat i have ever owned and i have had probably six or seven. the sustain is comprable to my uncles gibson es-335. am i'm impressed with the whole package. The guitar was perfectly intonated, the action is perfect. it's the first strat that i didnt have to shim the neck. pick one up. i think i'm the only one in the forum who owns one.

Right on. Thanks for the reply. I put in a request with my local guitar store this past weekend to see what price they can give me on one. I think that this is the Strat I've been waiting for. My American Tele is great for clean tones, but I want a Strat that can rock out a little more with some shred.
