I have been searching for my perfect Strat for a while now and I have narrowed it down to 3.
The American Standard
The American Deluxe V shape
The Mark Knopfler

Any idea on which one would be best?

If it were me I would go with the American Deluxe
Although I am one to talk... I had trouble choosing myself. so...
(I have both an american deluxe & an american standard on layaway)

Did u notice the Standard Sienna Sunburst comes with an Ash body? :)
I love the Recessed heal of the American deluxe...

It's nice when sliding or reaching up to high notes on the neck without
hitting that corner edge on the body where the neck is bolted on.

The American Standard comes with "H/S/H Pickup Routing"
meaning the body is already routed for
humbucker - single coil - humbucker.
(not sure about the American Deluxe, the fender
website doesn't say it on the specs under "unique features"
like it does the amer standard)
Also that Mark's Strat doesn't have 22 frets (if it matters to you)...
but those texas specials are nice to have already in the guitar...

Are you into heavy wammy use?
I noticed that the american deluxe stays in tune
even when I dive bomb the wammy.
The LSR roller nut on the neck & the Locking Tuners work...
Don't get me wrong.
If I wanted to knock the guitar out of tune,
I could have (would have been obscene not playing)...
I was suprised how much abuse it could take & still stay in tune.

I think the perfect Strat is still not on this earth yet.

For me are till now my MIA 96 Lone Star Strat and MIM Classic Player 60.

Cheers :D

Get the deluxe, these are made of better wood and are mostly hand made instead of machine made. My teacher told me, he has made them himself when he worked for fender.

to ~me~ the dlx is a little lifeless sounding compared to the AmStd... fwiw - in my somewhat biased eyes, I found the perfect strat in my 50th anniv ltd edition... i have yet to find anything about it that doesn't make me sprout a little "ash" every time I pick it up... had I never played it I would have bought a Sienna/Maple AmStd, one chord on the 50th sold me though...

I have an American Deluxe and I love it. It's the C-neck, though.
