65 Vintage *Reissue* V005256 purchased around 1982-1983 with case. This was when they first started doing the reissues. A little work done like I put a five position P/U switch on it and had one fret job done well. A little beat up but very functional. I know what all of my other guitars are worth but this one i have no earthly idea. I am sure you would have to see more pictures but I thought I might get some opinions. Anybody?

Look for similar on Ebay.

Worn is an acquired taste, even if it is from legitimate use, not faked. That is likely to reduce the value over a minter.

I would hazard a guess at around £1100. As Strats are cheaper in the US perhaps the same in your colonial dollars.

It's a 1962 reissue.
Spaghetti logo, slab fingerboard, mid 1959 - late 1963 scratchplate screw positioning.

A '65 would have a transition logo and a lam board, along with the current screw locations on the scratchplate.

As already mentioned your local Ebay is your best place to get an idea of value.

Question is hard to answer. The best answer I can give (in my opinion) is the answer that Zippo Lighter Co. gave me about any lighter in my collection: "It is worth whatever a collector is willing to give for it".

If you are not a celebrity, and the guitar is not signed---it seems 'value' doesn't climb like you might think.

"Roughly" about $1200.

How many Zippos are in your collection, White Dog?

I have about a hundred.

Wow! Nowhere near that. I have just over 25. For me, they have to be a "gift". Friends and family know I like them, so they'll grab one for me here and there...or give me an old one if a relative dies and leaves it to them.
One I got in 1994 from a friend when I was Best-Man at his wedding, I used so long I sent it to Bradford, PA. three times to replace the hinge/pin---that's when they sent me a collectors book which taught me how to date them (from 40's to present). I retired that lighter rather than send it in a forth time.

Zippos are fun...even if you can't play them. LOL!
