Just picked up a 2008 USA Strat.
Why are there 2 screws on the bottom of the bridge pup?
The other 2 do not have this.

What exactly does the bottom tone nob do?
It seems to cancel out the other when it is wide open.

Is this related to the screws on the pickup?

I would post a pic, but can't figure out how to do it.

If it is a humbucker; Pickups height and parallel adjustment screws

1- download photo on Photobucket or other

On Photobucket librairy;

2- choose the photo you wan to post

3- clik on IMG ( copy )

4- Open Fender forum answer window and copy the IMG in the window

It's a single coil. They are not on top. They are on the bottom of the pup and go right through the coil.

I was told it is a special circuit for that year.
It's not modded.
If I could answer my own questions, I would.

The screws in the bridge pickup bottom are there to give the pup more hotness via the added metal.
There is no direct relation between these and the tone pot function.

If your guitar is an American Standard Stratocaster, tone1 is for neck, tone2 for middle and bridge pickups. Both tones are functioning at the same time only in switch position 4; neck+middle pups on together. Tone2 is a no-load pot; that means it "switches out of the circuit" when turned to 10.

If that doesn't seem to fit the guitar, you need to help us help you by giving more precise info of the guitar, there were dozens of Strat models in 2008...
