I'm really diggin' my NOS Fender Pawn Shop 70s Stratocaster Deluxe. It gets my highest marks on the "fun factor" scale. I have the black one. Here's the story: A few years back, I purchased a Peavey Tele-style guitar from a seller on eBay. The guitar was an antique, and when I got it, it still had the plastic film on the pickguard. I tried to remove the plastic film and everything went south from there. I contacted the seller and told him the story and he was gracious enough to let me return it. We got to talking and he said that he had an '06 Tele Deluxe that he wanted to sell... so I returned the Peavey, gave him some more $$$ , and he shipped me the Tele. The '06, '72 Tele Deluxe reissue he sent was gorgeous... mint with maple neck and a walnut colored body. The big chunky neck and peg on this Tele really gave the bass some "big" and killer definition that did not exist on my strats. I liked the tele so much that I thought that a Strat might exist with a similar configuration. After a bit of research and a few calls to Fender, I learned that the Fender Pawn Shop 70s Stratocaster Deluxe had the same neck as my '06 Telecaster. Needless to say, I bought one and I'll never regret it!!!

This is the most unique sounding guitar in my collection... very "snappy"... and it plays like dream! The lightly flamed, one-piece maple neck is like a work of art. I've never seen one from the factory so perfectly detailed... and this is a MIM Stratocaster! I've tweaked up the settings with a 1/4 turn on the truss rod and lowered the strings to 1/8". I was amazed to learn that the Telecaster pickup in the neck position is adjusted so close to the strings... I currently have it at 3/32" and it seems to be OK... I have the Enforcer humbucker at about 1/8". The Enforcer sounds really cool full-tilt distorted and cleans up nicely at about 50/60%

The only mod I've done are a set of Strap locks (with white felt pads). I'm going to order a Babicz FCH bridge today. The machines are OK for now but I might change them out as well.

Thank you FMIC for producing the Fender Pawn Shop 70s Stratocaster Deluxe!!!
