It's $999.99, right? I went to http://www.morrellmusic.com/ and the guitar was $899.99 and so were the older Fender American Strats. Does anyone know why both of the guitars are the same price?

List prices are not obligatory. Dealers most offer for a bit lower "Street prices".
Take a look into the Quick Reference Liste on this page and check up the list prices and compare with retails from some dealers or online stores.
Why morrellmusic offer new 2008 American Strat and older American Strat for the same price that only knows bythemself.

check out some other online stores also.

Cheers :D

i would like to know myself.
the upgrade highway one strat i paid $750 for it
i have seen price tags $700 to $825 for the same strat.
i guess as long the guitar shops don t go over the orignal
list price they can price what ever the want. thats my take on it.

usually dealers have a minimum price point they can advertise at based on agreements with the supplier (in this case Fender)... doesn't mean they won't deal when you go in... there's a small local shop in my area that will undercut ANY of the big guys and they actually have stellar service to boot... they get my coin every time

Sticker price on mine was $999, asked for 10% discount and got it.

It doesn't matter since I just got it from Guitar Center! I didn't even know. My parents surprised me with it for my birthday!
