Once owned an MIM 2002 in Midnight Blue, had to sell it in 2008. Decided to get back into playing and after buying a Squier,HAD to find that same MIM from before.Craigslist was kind to me and I picked up a 2000 Standard MIM in the same colour, hardly played, not a scratch on it,for $250.Not too bad.

Nice Strat! I too have a MIM Midnight Blue Strat. I really like the way it turns purple under certain lighting conditions.
Mine is a 2000 HSS. I have modified it with Seymour Duncan pups and wired it (using a schematic from the "Support" section of the Fender site) like a MIA with S1 switching. I kept the original pickguard and electronics, so it can be returned to original condition.

Here's how she looked before modification:

Another new member here.
I played an Ibanez AF95TK full hollow for a while, loved the guitar but too much guitar body (and too much of my body ) made the fretboard too far away for comfort. Added a Blacktop Strat - Candy Apple Red with Rosewood Fretboard. Comfortable to play, great variation on pickup selections, my goto guitar for jamming now.

I just bought a used MIM Strat but am not at all sure of what it is other than Deluxe whatever that actually means. The serial number says it is from 2011 or 2012 but that is as far as i have been able to figure it out.

I have a story about my initial fixes at http://www.geezerguitar.com/usedstrat.html
If anybody recognizes it I'd appreciate some info!

I'd forgotten about this thread. So sold on the Mexican Fenders after the one in the post below, I went on a buying binge. Got a Tele too, but that's for another post. Picked up a new 50s Classic Player in Shoreline Gold (love these colors!). Then, I traded an extra (double of one I owned) Les Paul Studio 50's Tribute for an NOS 2008 (first year) Road Worn 60s Stratocaster. Love them all! And I needed something in Fiesta Red, so just bought a Classic Series 50s Stratocaster on eBay (coming from the UK, won't be here for a week or so).

Can't get a decent pic of the gold, it always looks washed out, but it is a real beauty in person. Plays great too, as they all do!

Here's a club I need to join. You can call me a "reformed" guitar snob. Used to think only American made Fenders were good enough for me. Not sure what caused my bias (ignorance? ), but after having owned 8 American Strats in my time (currently have 3 and love them all), I finally bit the bullet and picked up a MIM Classic 60s Player in Sonic Blue (it was the color that grabbed my interest, but all the great reviews and opinions I've read about this model got me really excited- I don't think I've seen one negative comment so far on the 'net, and now I know why!).

Meet Carlita Azul (yeah, I name them, but only some of them 8) ).

Just lousy cell phone pics for now (got to find the digicam, but I am wanting to get the plastic off of the pic guard and wanted to at least have a shot or two with it on).

FWIW, the build, fit and finish quality is right up there with it's Gringo Cousins. The sound is a bit different, as they all are, I've got different p'ups in each (Clapton with Noiseless, American Standard and American '62 VRI). But it still sounds like a Strat, and another unique axe among the four, all good things!

A great addition to the collection, and a great value too. I think I foresee some more MIM Fenders in my future!

I bought a new Mexican standard yesterday at Guitar center online, brown sunburst. It shipped today and I just can't wait to get my hands on it.

Picked mine up over the weekend. It's a 1996 version.

I'm in the process of cleaning it up. Looks alot better than the pic's already. Sound coming from the neck and middle pups seem real subdued compared to the bridge pup. Will restring it this week and see what sound I get after using the tone pots, as I don't think I attempted to adjust them when testing it out.

The original owner has kept this completely stock.

Thank you for your interest. I appreciate it. I can't believe it but the guitar should be here today and I just ordered it sunday evening, right before the st. paddys day sale ended!

I received my strat about 5 yesterday and I'm more than pleased. It's going to need a little tweaking; I'll post tonight or tomorrow to let you know any issues I'm having and see if I can get suggestions.

Aren't MIM Strats great?!!!

I have a MIM FSR HSS Strat that I picked up used at my local SamAsh. I swapped the stock neck and middle pups for a set of Rose "American Beauty" hand wounds that I bought from a guy on Craigslist. It's black on black with a maple fretboard and I put on a set of skirted amp knobs for the volume and tone controls. Looks and sounds superb.

Sorry if this post gives you the GAS!
Here's "Vader" 8)

the skirted amp knobs on a blacked-out strat really does the trick.
