Mine is a 2006 Fat Strat.
metallic blue in color
rosewood fingerboard
had it for a few weeks and started upgrading already.
just replaced the strap buttons with Schaller strap locks
replaced factory single coil pups with Bill Lawrence L200's
huge improvement in tone.
Sounds awesome thru my 65 twin reissue

future upgrades include a pearloid pickguard and locking tuners
factory humbucker may have to be changed as well but it's good for now.
Mike

Just picked up a '92 standard at Sam Ash in Orlando. Scratchy pots but hey picked it up for $175. Its got some character now but I'm going to relic it. Pots will get replaced, not sure what i'll do for pups, the ones in it sound good, havent taken it apart to see what they are yet.

I used to have one. It was so great. I loved the grunt that the bridge pickup had. It was such a good first guitar, definitely made me a Fender player for life. I don't regret parting it out to friends in need though. I sort of gave it new life with new people, as they needed the parts and I didn't.

Here's my "new" baby:

It's a 2006 HSS model. It has the 60th anniversary diamond on the back of the headstock. I can't find anything wrong with it, no scratches or dings. Plays great, sounds great. As far as I know (I haven't had the pickguard off) it's 100% stock except for a missing tremolo bar, which I don't use anyway. The humbucker gives it a nice growl, and I can't hear much volume difference between it and the single coils. It's a very versatile guitar, especially clean. I hope to have it for the rest of my life.

I have both rosewood and maple fretboards and I really don't have a preference. They're both great. Although the sound and feel is different, I can't pick a favorite.

Hey, thought I would join the club :)

-2005(2006?) Standard Strat
-Electron Blue
-Maple fretboard
-Stock everything
-Has a special edition sticker on back of the headstock(don't know why)

If I bought it new in December of '05, is it a 2005 or 2006 strat? Thanks in advance.

Does it have a diamond emblem with "60" in it? If so it's a 2006. Serial number can have either a "5" or a "6".

I own MIM stratocaster with serial number MZ7. I have it as new guitar from 2007. it´s in arctic white with HSS PU. I change them in these days for Lace Hot Gold with Hot Bridge... :) I hope that it will sound better.

I recently acquired a 2006 70s Classic Strat. I got it for $250, which was a great price. The good price was because he had been messing around with it - one of those "garage luthier" kind of guys. I think he was bummed about his "refinish" job and didn't want to look at it. It's not bad, but definitely amateur.

He also was big on messing around "under the hood," so I will be doing some work on the pickups and wiring. There's also a solid shaft 500 k volume pot that's got to go. But man, does this thing play smooth! Even with a minimum setup and the bad stock pickups, it still plays like Keith Stone.

How do you like the slanted bridge pup on that reversed one?

Actually, it's more than just slanted, all the pickups are staggered leftys (so it is a mirror of the Hendrix Strats). It's different: not better or worse. I haven't had it long enough to describe yet, but I like it. It also has a C-neck and I am used to playing the V-necks, so I play her differently, too.

I had been playing around with an idea for a project guitar where I put lefty pickups in a Strat not realizing they had sold a small run of them (with the bonus of the reverse bridge pickup slant), so I picked it up to save me the trouble. The price was right!

I have the same guitar, except it's a 2006 and the headstock decal is different. I also have a blue 2009 HSS with the headstock decal like yours. Both are terrific guitars.
