are Mim strats supposed to have "original custom body" at the top of the neck or is that just for Mia standards

I bought a mim strat in september of 2009 at a local music shop. I bought it as an HSS but am planning on soon buying a new pickgaurd and dimarzio 54 bridge pickup from my guitar teacher. I am also contemplating stripping the guitar and staining it for a natural finish but I am not totally sure how good the wood actually would look. Any ideas?

Hello All...1996 Tex-Mex (Blackie motif). Interesting guitar that sounds very cool through a variety of amps. Blessings...Steve

Got a 2011 black with maple neck just over a month ago. I love this thing so much, I sleep with it. Well not really, but I did get some vintage noiseless p/u's in it recently.

I have a mustang 1 amp for the time being, but I plan on picking up a blues junior 3 within the next few weeks.

Best value as far as i'm concerned. :-)

Hi All, new to this forum (usual HCEG guy). Just ran across this:
Image

Here's a stock I found: Image, anyone else have one of these? Specs say Tex-Mex pups (of which I am a fan) but no bevelled edge or staggering on the magnet, Any info is appreciated.....

I also have a Classic 50's in Daphne with aftermarket mint guard and Tex-Mex from a JV (that are staggered and bevelled):

Which I LOVE. The Tex Mexes sound similar, but with teh FR and lighter strings the pewter Deluxe seems a bit brighter.....also have messsed w/ pickup height, etc. Just wondering other members' experiences......and just saying HI! :D

Don't have a photo yet, (a sunny background would be great, but rare here in the NW!) but I recently picked up a new Fiesta Red Classic 50's Strat. I really like the soft V neck, as I'm very new at playing. Last weekend I installed Custom Shop Fat 50's PU's, and a nice 3 ply pearloid pickguard. Image

Very nice.....I love the 50's V neck and car colors (had my eye on a Fiesta Red, when I got the scratch together it was gone), but luckily found Daphne here:

richey 88 - I just installed a set of Tex Mex pups in my new (used) 2002 MIM Strat. Bought pups at discount at a good music store, still in Fender packaging. Magnets are staggered (various heights) but had no bevel edges. Looks like the pups on my Amer. Std. Sounds great.
Hope that helps and welcome to the forum.
