I finally have a Strat coming. I had a Squier Strat I liked the feel of but the electronics were crap. Gave it to a drummer bud I work with. Had a Hagstrom I loved & traded it for an amp,got a Epi 62'RI SG & did not like the feel for it so it went out the door. Traded it for a Charvel & the dude traded it to someone else while I was at Thunder In The Valley. Then I traded it for a Kramer but the dudes dog ate his couch and he had to buy a new 1. It all worked out though as I got the guitar I wanted from jump.
Sunburst H/S/S  It's a 98' or 99' in really nice shape. I'll be changing it all out as I don't like the black out look on it. I want to change all the hardwear to gold also  It will be here Thursday. I am using a sweet maple body Ibanez H/S/S with Dimarzio HB in it & I want to make the Fender my #1 so we will see. Any suggestions for me?I need to search to see what fits/swaps/etc. yet. :D

Sorry for the long post but I have gone to buy a couple Strat's and people have backed out. I have the loot to just buy one but I don't need more than a couple guitars so why not swap what I won't use

Blizzard Pearl, Maple neck, and I've installed a set of Custom Shop '54 pups...lovely sound! I've had Orange Drop caps installed, and the lower tone pot has been moved to the bridge pup. It's been professionally set up as well and it plays low and fast...but I don't! I have a Vox AD50VT but my favourite amp is my Traynor Custom Special 50. This honey sounds great with any guitar.

Bought a MIM LoneStar Strat a couple of months ago. Absolutely love it. I really dig the Texas Specials in the Mid/Neck. Was exactly what I was looking for. Bought this instead of the American Standard.

Thx,I know what your saying & I guess I really didn't make it to clear either. I'm looking for the HB to be a classic rock sound and maybe a nice clean SC & a Bluesy SC is what I'm thinking. I know the trems from the USA strat won't fit but will the pickguards fit up? Also the tuners? As I have read that these are the main issues with the MIM? I'm thinking a vintage cream or the brown tort. PG with gold hardwear. I've been playing for about 7 months & not that great but have had a few guitars in a short period. I'm digging the HSS set up on my Ibanez & trying to make the Fender an all around performer for what ever I want to play.

A few months back, I walked into a guitar store with all intentions of purchasing an American Standard or Highway One Strat. After going through every one they had ( and I really liked one Highway One in particular) I just happened to pick up a new 2006 MIM, black with maple neck and white pickguard. Somehow this black MIM ended up following me home. I don't even care for the white pickguard ( I think it looks like a penguin). I really luv this guitar, but I gotta get a different color pickgaurd. Any color suggestion, or pics of black strat with a different color pic gaurd?

My guess is that many of them haven't noticed this thread yet, so here is a bump to keep it visible.

I have a 2006 Anniversary edition Electron Blue with Rosewood neck.

It's nothing too special right now, I plan on getting some new pick ups, maybe texas specials or something that gives me a nice fat tone.

Next up, new amp!

Hey brothers! I'm new to this forum although I've been a Fender owner/player for quite some time now. I just bought a MIM limited run strat and it's turning out to be one of my favorite axes that I've ever owned! This thing plays like butter! I ended up putting a Seymour Duncan Distortion humbucker in it which gave it more of a growl than the stock Fender Atomic humbucker. I'm primarily a shredder, but I also play classical as I went to college for performing arts in classical guitar. As far as a rig goes, I'm playing this bad boy through a Marshall JVM410H half stack which is a monster in itself. I like to play in "D" across the board so I added some #10 Elixir's on it and did some MAJOR claw adjustment to get it where it needs to be. It worked out pretty cool because you can drop low "D" to "C" for even more of a dropped tone without having to do another claw adjustment. I love the simplicity of this axe having only 1 humbucker (no single coils) and 1 volume knob which is down and out of the way. I'd like to buy a bunch more Fender Strats that have this same configuration if I can find them and they don't have to be MIM's either. Anyway I love this thing sooooooo much that I could go on and on forever talking about it so here's a pic of it without the Seymour Duncan installed in it and without the trem bar...

Yeah...She SHREDS!!!!!!!!!
