I love mine too but thats why I bought a MIM, I like to modify it and check out new stuff. If no one ever did that before we'd all be playing 1954 strats! I like to mix it up myself, still love strats though... 8)

I'm waiting to take delivery of my MIM Standard Strat and Frontman 25R from Sweetwater. Should be here tomorrow. :D

I haven't played in 20 years (the Strat and amp were a 56th birthday present to myself), so I am basically starting from scratch. :(

I plan on blocking the tremolo and taking it from there. 8)

I bought a frontman 25R back in '04. It's a great practice amp and I get a clean blues sound with my Strat. I love the spring reverb. It's a great value for $100.
Don't worry about the playing, you'll be rippin'-off riffs in no time.

Happy jamming.

I block most of my strats and my 2002 MiM standard is blocked. I usually have maple pieces I use so as needing only one piece of wood. My stock has dwindled, between mine and other peoples gits. I had to use two pieces of walnut, until I replenish my wood stock(no pun intended)
my Mims are still stock, although this 2002 will more then likely get some new pups when I have the money.

I have a 2009 MIM HSS Strat, no mods, and not thinking of making any to it at this time. 8)

I have a CP 60's Strat and it sounds and feels fantastic just the way it is. If it ain't broke - don't fix it.

I have 2009 MIM Standard, the only thing it needed when i bought it was a set up but of course the fun is to make it yours and unique, with your own ideas so i mod it a little bit with 2 dimarzio 67 and a dimarsio
VV 54 pro and new pick guard coming soon(still thinking about the wiring !!).

Love my Strat , sounds amazing!!

I am on my second Dleuxe series. Lost my first one due to house fire had new graphite bridge saddles put on and action set on my first one two weeks prior to fire. The fire was so hot and powerful that it caused the front of the house to swell and then explode! The next day went to view damage and it was sitting right there in the living room still on the stand at least half of it was. Bought second one and had it set up the same way I would never sell it. I do get upset when folks who do not have a clue say these are not good instruments. I have played vintage Strats, Music Man Sting Rays, G&L SA500 new Strats and none have impressed me as much as these.

bump - just for fun.

Lots of people are very appreciative of Fenders' desire to provide an excellent instrument for people at different prices.

I would say that this thread is ample evidence that Fender is doing excellent work in Mexico for them (jobs) and us (players).

I've heard some older players say the Mexican plant is really doing well lately, and I believe them. Between that and the price, Kenny Wayne Shepherd specifically chose the mex plant to make his signature guitar.

As a follow up, I recieved my MIM Strat and Frontman 25R from Sweetwater last Friday. I immediately decked it with 3 springs (have more springs on order to up it to 5) and blocked it with a machined aluminum block I had lying around the house. The sustain is incredible.

Just got me a lefty lake placid blue MIM. excellent guitar and complements my Gaskel SOV and Ibanez SA series guitar. Love the MIM only fault i can find is the bridge pick up is a lil crappy but the neck and mid are excellent. Will upgrade the bridge PU in time.

I just bought one too, a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely love the color. Down the road I plan to change the pickguard to pearl white (Warmoth has the best price for lefties), replace the pickups with Texas Specials, and block the trem.
