'10 Fender Strat Roadhouse, though it has a 07 serial number. Texas specials are the bomb.

Wow, looooog thread. I just bought a 2003 MIM Ice Blue Strat for my 11 yr. old granddaughter to learn to play guitar on (#MZ3090459)
In fact it's enroute from ebay...$249.00 Buy It Now price. The MIM models were going for that and more...over $300 in some cases. I did some research before I decided on a Strat in the first place. I love Fenders. I myself have a Telecaster Custom FMT. It sounds so sweet thru my Line6 Spider II 75w. Look forward to becomming part of this community and learning all the "ins & outs" of guitar tuning/building/modding. Learned quite a bit already just looking thru the many thread topics! Love Ya Leo
I read other MIM owners saying how good they stacked up against the MIA models especially with a few mods. I was thinking about a set of new pick-ups just for giggles, I know she wouldn't hear the difference but I will.
Any suggestions? We'll be doing some classic rock and smooth jazz. Thanks

Mexican Strat +/- 1998. Vintage white (I think. I'm not the first owner, and it seems to be discolured so it might have been a different shade of white originally). No mods.
Serial no. MN8308982

Please Note: My camera doesn't do them justice. They look much better in person. Much more vibrant and rich.

Great pics of a very nice looking guitar! Can you tell me how you took the closeups? Asuming a digital camera, what settings did you use?

Thanks Markara. The "studio" shots were setup with a white backdrop and one studio light with softbox just to my right. Another light was fired onto the backdrop from the left to blow out the background to pure white. Camera was a Canon EOS 30D digital SLR. Lens was a Canon "L" series 24-70/2.8.

The closeups were taken with a 50mm/f1.8 lens using aperture priority with the aperture set to 1.8 so it would throw everything in the background completely out of focus. Natural light with no flash. All I used was some filtered light coming through the curtains from the window behind.
The closeups you could do with just about any digital camera (even a point-and-shoot). Just set the ISO to its lowest setting such as 80 or 100. This will ensure the aperture will open to its widest setting throwing the background out of focus.

Cheers.

I have to say that it's an honor to be one of those who own a MIM STRAT. and after playing MIA's an MIM's i think MIM's are as great as MIA's.

Mine its a 2009 Standard Strat MIM placid lake blue with some small hand made mods and two AREA 67 Dimarzio pups (Neck and Middle) and a AWSOME Virtual Vintage 54 pro in the bride.

IM A PROUD OWNER...

Cheers to the MIM strats

My 2009 Standard Strat in it's new wall hanger. Other than buying the guitar, this has been the most satisfying thing I have done with it. When I am not playing it sits behind my home desk like a friend looking over my shoulder.
