Got my 2009 MIM Strat a couple of months ago, Brown Sunburst maple neck. Sweet axe, IMO.
It's been a long time since I'v seen it so this comparison may or may not be accurate, my friend has an American Strat he bought new in '72, and , AFAICT my MIM Strat is at least as well constructed as that one was.

Hi, my first post here. Thought you might like to see my MIM Sonic Blue CP60's. I changed the pickguard to tortoiseshell but otherwise it's as it was when it was delivered. Love it! Would like a 50s too maybe...

Great pic again john.bohn , looks like the backing singers, and just look at that sky it's even in the chrome, Aah paradise

Thanks, man. It was 45 degrees cooler when I was taking guitar pics on my patio this time. The Oly White Jimmie Vaughan doesn't need sun screen in December.

Hey John was thinking you could start up a nice little business, if you could get all your fenders in a row all in the one shot, and advertize it as a Fender retirement / holiday home and post dailly pictures of our resting, relaxing guitars, just a little sunblock on my maple neck please 8)

Hmmm, a herd shot. I'll give that some thought but I'd need to buy more stands or stand them up against the wall.

I like the Fender retirement/holiday home idea but I don't think getting people to send me their Strats would work. The saying cold, dead hands jumps to mind. :D

 yeah probably right, also have to triple that fence height, which would block out the sun, plus razor wire the perimeter & the dobermen would hinder any local law enforcement recovery procedure, sorry John flight case goes back in the cupboard

Well I´m not sure if i belong in the club. The body of my guitar was made (carved from a raw piece of Ash) by a Luthier in his workshop in Mexico, the rest of the components are snatched from an american standard (tuners, pickups, pickguard), and from a 95 plus deluxe (bridge, neck). Assembled in the workshop, so technically it´s made in Mexico.

Hey guys,

Got a little prob with my new MIM Standard, hoping you guys can help.

Getting really bad buzz/rattle on the A string at the 19th fret, at least my amateur investigations lead me to believe that is where the issue is... I am guessing that the fret is high there. The other strings are okay at the 19th, just the A.

When I fret 17 or 18 on the A there is a a real rattle sound but it disappears when I fret 19-21. If I fret 17 I can just get the tiniest movement of the string if I push it down onto 18 but it seems to be sitting on or very nearly on 19. If I fret 18 it seems to be sitting on or nearly on 19 as well.

As I said all the other strings seem to be okay. I have fretted each string at every fret and the only issue is on the A around 19.

As the guitar is brand new it will be under warranty but it was also a Christmas present from my wife so if possible I would prefer to sort it out myself with the minimum of fuss. I don't really want to have to tell her my present is cactus and needs to go back to the store unless I really have to.... :(

Thanks guys!

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Here's my recent acquisition from eBay. She's a 2003 MIM Strat HSS in Sage Metallic Green, a colour I hasn't seen before but I love it.

Also, early in 2009 I also but this MIM Strat Delux on eBay.
