My 2008/09 MIM Strat is Midnight Wine with a Rosewood fretboard. I've replaced the tuning machines with Sperzel locking tuners to make string
changing easier. (nothing wrong with the stock tuners).

My guitar is very nicely made and I'm proud to own it. It's a keeper!

2008 (afaik) Navy Blue Metallic. No idea if it's a good one or a bad one, as it's my first guitar and there is no guitar I could play that would sound other than bad, but I'm enjoying it.

GSB I love you're post. I feel the same way lol. I sure have fun learning to play and that's what it's about right...the journey to being a better player.

I regret that I didn't get started earlier in life, but sure am having fun with it.

Take it easy.

On your photo bucket page hover over the picture, you should get a list of tag options coming up, copy and paste the one with the tags on the outside. Here's your pic:

Same here. I'm starting at 42, and while I'm never going to be Satriani, I've discovered that my musical knowledge, horizons and appreciation level has expanded faster in a few months than in years previous. That alone has made it worthwhile. It's funny, because I hear folks around me saying "Oh, I would love to do that, but I just don't have the natural ability. I could never play," or "I took a couple of lessons when I was younger but it was really hard and I stopped," and just shake my head. What kind of self-defeating thinking is that?

Exactly. I started a few years ago at 25 (not old, but not exactly at 10, either), and I used to have a co-worker who was thinking of playing bass. His words were, "I'd like to do it one day."

I asked him what was stopping him from learning it now, because if he kept saying, "one day", it'd be never.

I don't think he ever took it up. Shame, since he was an artistic guy (a filmmaker, once upon a time), and I think he would have taken to it.

I'm starting at 46 because it is something I always wanted to do for myself, I have raised my kids and paid for thier violins, drums, and guitars, now it's my turn, I'll never be a Clapton but I enjoy it and that's all that matters to me.

I have an '00 MIM L/H Strat strung for right hand(very into Jimi) black with a rosewood fingerboard.I never swapped out the pups and maybe never will as she sounds lovely as is.If I ever did decide to replace pups it would be Fender all the way most likely 60s vintage type.

I am 36 and pretty much just starting out. Had a Cort X series guitar for 12 months but only ever noodled on it occasionally....

Had an introductory guitar lesson tonight with a local teacher, starting official lessons with him next week. I figure better get started now before I waste another year "not actually playing"!!!

Right now I am just waiting for Christmas to roll around so my wife can give me my brand new MIM Standard Stratocaster in brown Sunburst with Rosewood board.... I feel like a kid all over again waiting for Christmas morning to roll around!!!!

Friday week I will be a bona fide member of the MIM club! :D
