My MIM Strat is a 2007 maple/black. Electronics are now GFS Premium II Alnico IIs with new tone pots, etc...all plastic is mint green. Trem block, screws, saddles and trem arm are Callaham. Tuners are GFS/Wilkinson vintage Fender style. Bridge plate, maple neck and alder body are original. I probably could have bought a MIA Strat for what I have invested in it but this "nickel and dime" approach has been fun and allowed me to choose what I wanted along the way. I really think this is one of the big advantages of MIM Fenders, that you can plug and play upgrades, esp since Strats are "modular" by design to begin with. I play it through a Palomino V16 with BBE Two-Timer delay, Hardwire CR-7 chorus and Hardwire CM-2 Tube OD. I can't imagine a Strat looking or sounding any better.

Aloha from Maui, New member here. On a trip to Japan a few weeks ago my friend who lives there took me to his favorite guitar shop. Kinda strange. All the guitars have a small lock on them. So you can't just pull one down and play them. You have to ask for help plus I don't speak Japanese. And then they have a remote to unlock the thing.. Well any way I was looking at the stuff. And was ready to leave when I saw a tobacco sunburst strat. My first guitar mentor had one. (he passed away a few years ago, so I thought if I ever got a new strat it would be a nice way to remember him). So I thought what the heck. I got the guy to unlock it..Played it.. OMG !!!!!! Only later did I discover that it is a MIM 50's strat.... With a 7.25 Maple neck.. This thing rocks. I have many other guitars. From a Samick JZ2 arch top to a 84 MIJ strat and a 72 Les Paul Deluxe.. My MIM is the BEST GUITAR I have. It is much brighter them the 84 MIJ.. It can paly any thing from a nice jazz tone to a full on rock sound.Maybe because of the maple neck.. Or the Texas Special pick ups?? Anywho.. It's got me playing more and more. And thats what it's all about. MIM rules.. Aloha, Mark

I couldn't afford a Fender American because of the price raise so instead i ended up getting an Arctic white Stratocaster MIM and i am going to spend the 800 i saved on upgrading everything.

I love my Strat and by the time i am finished upgrading, it is gonna give the American Standard a run for its money.

Amen.
Same here.

I'm insanely crazy about my Classic 50's strat. Maybe a hot rodded 'rails' pu in the bridge or a "Little Screamin' Demon."

i stripped the thread on the trem of my mim classic 60's a while ago, and had been looking for a replacement, but they were both hard to find and expensive,

today i realized i had a gotoh vintage bridge lying in one of my many stripped guitars.

i had a look and found out it had a solid steel block (BONUS).

i wanted to keep the fender stamped saddles, so i just switched the blocks,

now the strat sounds even more awesome than before, has a lot more sustain.

next up is the pots.

Now, my #1. Picked up this LNIB 2007 MIM Standard at GC this week based on the way it played, sounded, and looked (somebody traded-in and GC marked it down due to age! MZ7) It's Artic White and has the solid block and other '06 'upgrades'. Even without the tint of the current year model, it is darker than some MIM, and MIA in the stores. The figuring on the low end of the maple neck continues to back of neck, and this Strat weighs 7 lbs. 14 oz.

Hey, We have the exact same guitar!!!
She a beauty aint she?!? Only difference is I upgraded the whole pickguard on mine. I installed the whole pickguard from a Deluxe, with the Vintage Noiseless PU's. She sounds amazing now.
Heres a the link to my post here, with pics. She's a MIM, same aged white, maple (with the wood grains showing), just different pickguard and PU's.

I have a 2006MIM Ashwood bodied Strat with Rosewood fingerboard. Replaced the stock pickups with the Fender Vintage Noisless, replaced pickguard and spring cavity covers with brown shell ones. Replaced the knobs, switch cover and trem arm tip with aged white parts. Next will be the nut, can't decide between bone or graffite. All in all, I love the way it now sounds, feels and looks.
