2007 Jimmie Vaughan Signature. I added a mint green pickguard and aged plastic, and strung it with Ernie Ball 10's. I also own a MIM amplifier, the NOS Blues Jr.

[quote="bluestube"]so what MIM strat do you own, and wath are your toughts about it?[quote]

I own an HSS FSR made in 2006... all Black and Chrome

Image
It was peacefully sleeping on a wall rack in my local store... just waiting for me... It was love at first touch.. that neck, the action, then came the connection to a vintage fender amp... WOW!

Now it's home where it belongs, hooked up to a Princeton Chorus (80s vintage) sitting in a low profile stand where it can be seen and enjoyed.

They were having a GOOD DAY in Ensenada when my Strat came off the assembly line.

Nice one tchall but one thing i would do if i were you is to straighten oyut that string tree so it is in line with the string, the way it is now it could cause tuning problems on your high E and B string!

I have a 95-96 MIM Strat that I think is sort of an odd bird. It's one of the one's with "Squire Series" in small letters on the ball of the headstock. What I think makes it stranger is that it came with a Floyd Rose II tremelo in an HSS configuration and it has a micro-tilt adjustor for the neck.

Let me know if you've seen one like it.

big greggo,
hey man, what do you think of that jimmie vaughan sig strat?
beautiful strat.
i have been contemplating whether to get that one or dish out the extra
300 bills and change for a us strat.
here is the thing, i have an 06 am strat rw fretboard sss, 06 hwy 1 sss rw also. now i want to have a complete set, maple fretboard.
however i love the usa models. everytime i play the mim strats, their tone is pretty darn good. the problem i have, is that the stores i go to,
those are the most beat up strats, poorly setup and intonated......
a major plus of the jv sig, is that v neck.
anyway, to sum it up. what do you like about it.
have you compared it to texas specials or cs 69, you know tonewise.
sorry for such a long post.
keep the change.

My number 1 strat is a Deluxe Lonestar in white with tortoise shell pickguard. It plays like crisco. I ,love it. It stays in tune perfectly and best of all I don't have to worry about scratching it up or gigging it hard. It's awesome! I am currently looking at an American Deluxe as a backup but the Lonestar will always be my #1.

Well, I have 2 MIM Strats. One, (red or Maroon) supposedly has been Custom Shopped and has American Pots, but I don't know enough about guitars to know, I just know what sounds good to me. The other is a Fat Strat, Blue. I have serial #'s but don't even know how to check them out since I bought them second-hand. Any ideas, suggestions for me to find out more about what I have? My wife bought them for me since she knew I had always wanted to play one. My Red one sounds just awesome on the Fender Champ (vintage) amp a friend gave me. It's a tube driven amp, pretty old (early 70's) and original. Sounds better the longer it warms up. :D
