Mmmm,

I never knew they made Strats with the Fender logo on 'em that still say Squire on the neck? All the Squire Strats I've seen said Squire Stratocater but that one say's both Fender and Squire! :D

I love my 2007 MIM brown sunburst, rosewood-necked Strat! Now for the mods:
-graphite nut
-graphite saddles
-Sperzel locking tuners (this also allowed me to remove the string tree)
-lightly sanded off "made in mexico" and serial number off of headstock (although by doing so, I may have committed a felony!...I'm never selling the thing, so whatever).
-SCN pickups in neck and middle positions (aged white)
-Seymour Duncan Hotrails in bridge position
-aged white knobs, 5-way selector tip, and trem bar cap
-rewired it so I have only one volume and one tone knob. This allowed me to move the knobs down on the pickguard...got tired of hitting my pinky on the volume knob when I played.
-custom black pickguard from Warmoth.

The thing plays like a dream, and even with all the mods, at $750. it will blow pretty much any other strat out of the water!

Olympic White Classic '60s Stratocaster MIM.
Serial MN8120135
3X Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro pu's.
Gotoh vintage Strat Tremolo GE101TS, with steel block.

Nothing wrong with this one, all the classic Strat sounds up for grabs.

Comments:
1) Why do the locking tuners allow you to remove the tree? For me, I have wondered how useful
the tree even is on my MIM std since the headstock is so close to being lined up with the neck.
2) You should not have mentioned that "sanded off the MIM". The MIA dudes will be all over that one. haha (j/k)
3) Regarding the 'playing like a dream' ... I am right there with you brotha. I know exactly what you mean.

Okay, I'm in... I received this one as an anniversary gift last August and posted it under another thread back then. But since we have a MIM Club... this is it.

The locking tuners are staggered (higher on the low E than the high), so I don't need the string tree for the added tension. I figure the fewer points of contact that I have b/n the tuners and the bride block the better...at least as far as keeping things in tune when I use my trem bar.[/color]
