Congratulations!! I'm still early-learning myself, on my MIM at home and mashing my fingers into my acoustic whilst at work during downtime. MUCH prefer playing the Strat, lol! Far less painful.... :x

Mine just has a hole, I think.. if that's what you're talking about? Do some have something to cover the hole? I can't really think of it now that I'm trying to.. it's at home and I'm at work. :?

I got a MiM Strat. Half the time I prefer it over my Gibson. And the pickups are INSANE!! They're so powerful I can literally talk into the guitar and the amp will pick up my voice.

No, but don't let that stop you. I'm glad to see this thread still alive. The Ensenada, Mexico factory produces some fine guitars.

Just purchased an Arctic White 2007 (MZ7xxxxxx) MIM Strat. My first. Played acoustic since 1990 and had just purchased a Fender electric/acoustic when I got my government stimulus check. ;)

Bought my MIM a year ago in october. 1991 black with white pickguard, i've already heavily modded it. My original plan was to make a DG's black strat but i realised i loved my guitar as was lol

i threw on a 57 reissue 1 peice maple neck with soft V shape
vintage gotoh tuners
seymour duncan SSL-1 bridge pup (Gilmour spec)
still havint changed the middle pickup but im thinking a lace sensor gold
i recently put in a suhr vintage 60s neck pup which has that nice bell tone
last but not least my callaham upgrade...i put in a a new tremelo block and installed the new CG saddles. All in all the guitar feels like no other strat ive played...the closests i'd say would probably be an Eric Johnson signature due to it being the same neck...but it sounds quite different.

Anyways theres my take, ill put up some photos soon.

Cheers, Jack

Hi all,

I am still just in the beginning stages of learning to play the guitar, and I had been learning on an Epiphone Les Paul...but I was looking around at my local guitar shop, and a 2007 MIM Standard in Arctic White caught my eye...

It then shared the car ride home with me, and I have been in love with it ever since. It is just an absolute joy to play!

Congrats on the purchase ST. Like you, I played an Epi LP for some time prior to purchasing my 2007 arctic white/maple MIM and I couldn't be happier. Don't get me wrong, the LP has a great sound and is a beautiful guitar in its own right, but the Strat is drop dead gorgeous, sounds great and is SO much easier to play than the LP.

Enjoy your new git.

Just picked up a MIM 3-tone sunbust with rosewood neck. I am very happy with it (although I think I will replace the PUPs with noiseless). Plays, looks, and sounds a least as good as my olympic white '86 MIA. Something about 3 tone sunburst with the rosewood neck.- It's like the very essence of electric guitar cool. It's a feeling like when I was 10 years old looking through the window of the music store. Magical.
