What kind of clothes and footwear do you put on when you play live?

Do you have a stage "standard" style or do you just go jeans/tee/chuck taylors?

I usually use Levi's 501s or Wranglers relaxed boot cut jeans, ordinary chucks and a plain black or white tee.

If the venue is more elite, I wear rocker boots and a button up black shirt.

And why not, post pics of you gigging with your Fenders! 8)

Edit. oops, wrong section. Mods, please move it to the lounge, ty

In the 60s/70s, we (the band I was in) decided on tan slacks, comfortable shoes of some kind (no sneakers) and button (but not button-down) shirts. We didn't try to make them identical, just close and neat looking. This was when we were in cover band mode. This was for schools, clubs, most bars. Another quirk: no sunglasses inside -- that was a sure way to get the local club owner or high school principal to call down a drug bust (at least, where I lived and considering the era).

If we were doing a gig that was more blues/progressive, no particular dress code except nothing torn or a serious eye sore.

Nowadays (I'm in my 60s), I'd show up as I would for work: adult casual, unless the band leader told me otherwise. Probably don't need to say it, but comfy shoes are a must especially for multi-set gigs.

Pretty good, Arjay.

That's the kind of venue I like best. Bar gigs gotta be like that.

The ones I usually are like this one:

That's funny, this is almost exactly what I pictured you looking like, Arjay!

My fashion sense (outside of work and religious services) has been described as a Cowboy Gypsy/James Dean hybrid.

I generally wear my infamous Giant African Chicken (aka Ostrich) boots, Levi's jeans, and either a plain, non-logo'd t-shirt or a Dickie's workshirt (similar to what a mechanic would wear when performing. The last few times I've gigged, I've worn a cowboy hat, but they were outdoor gigs and I needed the sun protection (thanks, German and Irish grandparents!)

This wasn't from a gig, but it demonstrates what I mean...

This is a Stratocaster question?

To answer the question: I wear a kilt.

Like Arjay, I normally wear a vest. This pic was from a Halloween show. That's supposed to be blood on my t-shirt.

Well, this is fun. A couple of you guys are old goats like me.

When I gigged close to 50 years ago, my outfit was high water wheat jeans and penny loafers (see avatar). We then decided to move on up to uniformity and wore checkered pants, white turtlenecks, and blue double breasted blazers. Pretty sharp. I have a picture of the 8 of us sitting in a tree, but don't know how to upload and would hate to do so without the others permission.

Keep posting. :D

Sarcasm doen't translate well on the internet. I would think that this question would be better suited for the general forum. You'd get more photos that way.
