Well I got the American Deluxe ! Thing is, it was hanging in the shop and all it's goodies were scattered about the place, some were hard to find and I'm not sure if I got all the 'right stuff' .

So is there a way to find out from the serial # etc.? The four screw but not square neck says 50th anniversary and there is a little sticker that says 'CE'.

Just not sure if I have everything it originally came with....it was sold to me as a new guitar with full warranty. So if someone could point me in the right direction for finding out what it should have with it i would appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,

GuitarZon

Thank you fhopkins, I apreciate the fast response. I had done as you suggest and there were a couple of things mentioned that were included with American Deluxe Strats that I don't have. Those will be taken care of by the music store...what I'm more curious about is if there was anything special that came with it since it says '50th Anniversary. For example was there a special case, tags, strap, etc. They just don't seem to know at the music store and I thought I'd do their homework for them in advance.

Thanks again.

Cheers,

Congrats on the american deluxe strat!
 I am buying one also... 8) Great guitars...

The "four screw but not square"
(spot where the neck attaches)
that u are referring to is called
Image
a recessed heel I believe...

1 of many reasons I chose an American Deluxe Stratocaster®.

THe "CE" is a safety/compliance sticker that is required in many countries Kinda like "UL" in the U.S.

CE stands for "conformité européenne", which is "european health and safety product label". As Ratboy said, equivalent to Underwritter laboratories proof of compliance.

Sure did take them forever to put that feature on a mass production guitar. Used to be on the high end set necks if my memory serves me. You would think that it would have become a standard body feature considering as how the majority appear to be HSH routed these days, to mention another 'need'.

It boggles the mind why they do things the way they do sometimes. I'd have put that on the '08 American Standard along with all the other things their 'consultants' felt would improve the model.

Doc
