This is my favorite strat plays like butter. Up graded pick guard and tremolo cover to mop from lime green and pickups from standard strat hss to custom shop 69's Callaham tremolo assembly and strap buttons, and a custom neck plate.ImageImageImageImage

It's clearly a mean machine! Those modified MIM Strats are killers. I have one too.

That's pretty nice !

I bought a MiM 70'S classic series in November and put the same pickups and pickguard on as you.

I love my MiM as it doesn't seem as precious as my MiAs and has encouraged me to apply screw drivers and soldering iron.

I bought it new with the view to trying some mods and had already attacked the headstock with a drill within the first week to swap the string trees.

Thanks everyone. MDiego, I bought the neck plate off a seller on Ebay. He has many designs all laser engraved.

John fyi, you can buy string trees that look like those on a American Standard, but fit mim strat. I got them from a seller in China, No hole to drill.

But then they wouldn't be Fender string trees.;-) All my mods so far have been using Fender parts. I may stray on my next mod by fitting Lace Sensors. They do have Fender history, so not straying too far.

So using a string tree that may or may not be a Fender string tree and would be reversible is unacceptable, but drilling a hole in the headstock permanently altering it from original is ok? Hmm interesting. :?

Yup. Fender parts come in a Fender bag with a Fender part number and are fitted to other Fender guitars. That was part of my own personal criteria. I even swapped the pick guard for one of the same colour because I prefer the American Fender pick guards over the MiM.

The cream plastic is as it came but I may swap to black with black Lace Sensors.

Beautiful Guitar MiniSoda,
Is that what they call Rootbeer Flake?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Thanks BMW-KTM the color is Sunfire Orange Flake. This color and the Rootbeer Flake were FSR of 500 each I believe.
