There is no way the strings were the problem with your guitar, not at least if they were the same gauge as the Elixers. More than likely poorly filed frets.

All frets are fine, perfectly even, checked em all. And how it stop buzzing with different strings same gauge and lover action and less neck relief?
I figured it must have been coating and the Elixirs are know to be a bit on the loose side of oscillation.
Anyway maybe it was a bad set, gonna try them again since I like the feel of coated strings.

Did you use Elixir nanoweb or polyweb?

Now I don't know since I thrown away the box. All others for acoustics are Nanoweb.
They could be poly

It's not going to matter.
It's not as though one brand of strings buzzes more than others or one thickness of coating buzzes more than another.

We are observing the pursuit of an untamed ornithoid and I, for one, am entertained.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Just curious. I like the polyweb electric guitar strings but cannot find them anywhere except online.

Ok now I officially hate EB Cobalt I will cut them off! The wounded strings are like a round file, awful feeling, just like their acoustic Aluminum Bronze, at least with Elixirs the feel was sweet, but these are just horrid, screw all investigations, back to D'Addario EXL110.
EB Overpriced and all about marketing...

Well, roundwound strings without coating are going to rasp against your fingers. That's part of the deal. Some want that.

Perhaps, but keep in mind that the Cobalts are more paramagnetic than regular steel and nickel, meaning you can get more bass volume at the same gauge. They're also one of the few string sets that are stated by the manufacturer to be nickel free[*], which is important to people with allergies.
For some, those differences are worth a little extra. It's not like the cost of strings is what bankrupts most players anyhow.

[*]: Rotosound British Steel are the only other ones I know of, but those are rather bright.

I know how do roundwound feel, but on Cobalts the wounds are far apart and sharp so they screech and put up to much resistance.
Yes the sound is stronger, bass is a bit to much for my taste, I lowered a bass side of pickups just a tad.
And as their Aluminum Bronze they paint fingers black, and my hands don't even sweat... So good sound bad feel verdict from me.

That, they do. Nod.

(Same with the Rotosounds, by the way. Excellent strings if you want the old late 60s bright sound, but expect blackened finger tips.)
