I have an American FSR with the brass pick guard and just wasn't loving the look so swapped it out with a white pearl. Really liking the new look.

I agree with you that your previous pickguard needed to go (not a fan either). Very nice addition! For my black MIM Strat I decided the time that I was going to TexMex pups and new saddles was a great time to make the same change (changed to black knobs, too). I know that pearloid can be quite polarizing. On the right guitar it looks good to me. Yours looks great!

The gold-anodized aluminum pickguard seems to fit only with certain body colors. They work well with Fiesta Red, Olympic White, Desert Sand, and a few others but sunburst doesn't favor them so much.

White pearl looks awesome on the black.

I for one am a fan of the gold anodized one, but it did look out of place on that sunburst.

On my sunburst I have a black three ply with white knobs and pick up covers.

But in the end, this is your guitar, and if your happy with this pick guard, then that is a good thing.

Spot on the money (as always).

I'm not a great lover of pearl but, in this case, it looks better.
