hey gang- I have a 2012 am. standard strat- the satin honeyburst guitar center edition. I relly like this guitar.

the other day I noticed that my bridge an saddles were getting kind of nasty looking, and I was thinking of replacing them. my questions are:

what bridge would work in this guitar? I don't know if there are different styles, but I need to know the exact replacement, and if they come in different sizes.

I also saw that the saddles come in different sizes. is there a certain size that is recommended for this model, and are there any advantages or disadvantages to the different styles?

I do use the trem bar a little, so I want to keep that part for sure. thanks all

Some photos would be helpful. Also, I'm not sure what your concern is. Unless the saddles are breaking strings, how it looks is really not that important. If the saddles are durty, clean them.

alright-upon further review, I checked a little closer, and a little cleaning was all it needed. too much nut lube apparently!

anyway, to a point I was wondering about, I noticed thereare different types of saddles on different strats. are they sonic differences, just cosmetic, or somewhere inbetween. just curious, that's all

ok- I am looking at these "string saver" saddles that look more like a block than vintage saddles. do they have any advantage?

also-how do you determine string spacing? I see 2 1/16, 2 3/16 sizes-do you measure from outside to outside of strings, inside to inside, center to center?

I may be crazy, but I am trying to learn all the upgrades that I may or may not need.

As for what saddle to get, it's all very personal. Fender generally use 2 types of saddles, bent steel and pressure formed saddles. Both are great and have their own tonal qualities. It's all a matter of personal taste.

When it comes to saddles, tone, sustain, quality, and smoothness of operation are to my mind what is important.

As to spacing, I used to know, but I've forgotten. I did find the information on line. I hope this helps.

If your strings do not line up with the pole pieces of the center and neck pickups, the spacing is likely 2-1/16".

+1 on it being 2 1/16 maybe 2 3/16, measure it

If you plan on buying block type saddles, make sure to buy a set that has a "center intonation screw"
all the offset models will not work.

I found GuitarFetish to offer a good product for a reasonable price.

Measure from the center of both E strings

Anything on this page will work on your guitar.
NOT Depends on which spacing you have and w/ 2 1/16 or 2 3/16 only center intonation screws will work

What you choose is up to you.
