I am trying to figure out if pickups I got from the friend (neck and bridge, middle was sadly lost) are realy from his 68 Strat (guitar is fine, neck and serial checks). What could be the meaning of "9460" number on the back of the pickup? Same number is on both pickups?! Wiring black and gray (I will pop-in some pictures). Any advice highly appreceated, thanks.

The 9460 should (according to general rules) translate to "9" = operator working the winding machine, "46" week of the year, "0" for 1970.
And, there's been some pups sold with that kind of info:

I won't say those pups didn't come from the guitar dated to 1968; AFAIK Fender serial numbers could easily have overlapped a two year period. But, try to do more detective work to be sure
