In stock? I saw only "preorder" options. :?

If they really are actually in stock, could you provide a link?

There are several online sellers, this is one site http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/electric_ ... 1291731002

That would be me. While I see the practical advantages it seems the piece of kit more appropriate to an Ibanez, or Wolfsteine or some other shredding axe rather than the classic retro that is Strat. It would be like putting neons on an Aston Martin...very vulgar what.

Having looked at the link to the new offerings (and talking about vulgar) how about that Sky Blue Metallic. Very classy......NOT!

Was looking at the link and had an online chat box come up. Apparently they have some in stock for immediate delivery with others en route. I didn't ask which ones they had.

Without comparing with my more familiar suppliers, who aren't listing them yet, it does look like a marginal price rise on the Deluxes.

ah ha!

this would explain the outrageously good price tag on the burgundy mist deluxe that's down at the local store in town. (I could probably walk out the door with that one for under 9 bills, case/case-candy et all)

This months Guitarist magazine has reviews already of the strat and the tele from the elite range this month, which is quick. They gave the strat 9 out of 10, saying it was a noticeable improvement and they seem impressed by the new noiseless pickups.

That sunset blue metallic does look nice. No regrets on picking up my HSS Deluxe in the sales though. Love it, especially the Shawbucker.

The Tobacco Sunburst looks kind of nice. You can count me as one that likes the LSR on my Am Dlx. Screw vintage correct. Save that for the reissues.

There's no Elite HSS with Atomic DH-1. Fender opted for the Shawbucker on these guitars and there's a good surprise the folks at the R&D adopted the Dimension Bass' spoke wheel truss rod system on a guitar.

The LSR nut is no longer necessary as Fender improved their locking tuners by shortening the string posts.

We hope seeing their bass cousins soon!

The string tree is ... different... the truss rod is ugly and needs a cover... and the knobs are starting to look a bit straight-shouldered and Ibanez-y.
I'll take two.

I looked through the teaser video that Guitar Guitar has up on YouTube - and noticed that there is no skunk stripe on the necks for these. It looks like the new truss rod is inserted from the top, so on the maple fingerboard models they are either using a maple cap from a different piece of wood or they are cutting off the top portion of the neck, installing the truss rod, and then regluing down the top/fingerboard portion.

I don't know if I'll be able to hang with that "C-to-D" shape, but that's not going to stop me from trying one out when they hit the stores.

I don't notice anything funky with the knobs and the new string tree is different, but the truss rod really looks strange to me on a Strat.

Cheers!

I was wondering will a new style neck fit on an old type body?
The pickguard will be different with that cutout.
I know the old style 22 fret neck has an overhang but what about strats with 21 frets.
Does this mean a change of inventory i.e pickguard x or y etc.
I presume you can use the new tuners on the old models.... :D

Perhaps Fender used the spoke-wheel truss rod system to compete with ESP and Levinson Blade which employed a similar technique for their guitars.

Not sure if they're gonna adopt the new designs for the American Standards sometime in 2017.

No skunk strip? It is starting to look like all that is left is the shape. :(

That said the Deluxe has had innovations over the years which haven't migrated on to standards, and other models, so I am less concerned on the impact this may have on the range over all.

I can see that Fender might want to make the Elite look visually different in order to boost guitar snobbery sales. "Oh you don't play an Elite then?" may be the next level to "Oh you play a Mexican!"

I went to online seller website in UK to check out the Elite. A chat window popped up, so I started to chat questions. I asked about the skunk stripe missing. And the reply was no skunk stripe on the rosewood fretboard necks. Maple fretboards still have skunk stripe for truss rod. I like the skyburst blue color.

Hmm - per the video up by Guitar Guitar the person you chatted with is wrong. They are shown unboxing a mystic black one with maple board and an autumn blaze one with a rosewood board and neither of them have a skunk stripe in the shots of the back (showing the new fully rounded-off neck heel).
