My Limited Edition American Deluxe Mahogany Strat (that's a mouthful) came with the bent steel bridge saddles. They seem to be fine. I'm not having any issues with them at all. My question is if you already had a set of Graph Tech saddles in black that are a direct fit, would you swap them out? I don't know if I want to go thru all the trouble of replacing the saddles and readjusting the intonation, which is dead spot on with the steel saddles. What do you think? :?

Well as the old saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". As long as you're not having any tuning issues when using the trem and the intonation stays spot on then I wouldn't do anything to it at this time. You can always keep the Graphtec saddles in the drawer in case you need them down the road if the LE were ever to devlop tuning issues, or you can use them on another guitar that really needs them.

Thank you for your response. I think I feel the same way. :)

I've been doing my own setups for many years. I'm 60 years old and would rather play it than work on it these days. :) I think I'm getting lazy. I still enjoy changing my strings and minor stuff though.

I'd leave the originals on. Been using them for years, and have found no need for anything else.
As it's been said...if it ain't broke, don't fix it, AND bent steel are extremely easy to set-up and maintain.

Yeah. That's what I'll do. Thanks. :)

I have never had a problem with breaking strings which was the idea behind the graphtec saddles.
More importantly is the definite change of tone from the originals to the upgrade / downgrade ( ymmv )

If I was going to the trouble of switching saddles then I would also switch the nut at the same time. Thus both tension points of the strings have the same frictional resistance...

I may in the future build a Start with those parameters but then again I would use SCN pups in such a beastly mod...

I have to firmly agree with John C and White Dog - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I really don't have a problem with swapping saddles specifically if the need calls for it...never thought it was that big a deal at all (15 minutes with a screw driver) and honestly, intonation is something you should check/adjust as needed any time you change strings. In my mind, that goes with the turf. That said, I'm not a fan of graph tech either...just my own opinion, but they always seemed like one of those gimmicks aimed at people who simply don't know how to setup a Strat. Even with the cheapest of my lowly Squiers, I've never had a need for such a thing and certainly the bent steel saddles on my MIM"s have yet to let me down.

Just my own opinion, but as to what I would do - I'd leave it be and just play :-)

Yeah, I agree with you. I'm just gonna leave it as is. I really like the stock saddles. Thanks for all the input from you all.
