In many respects it is no longer a guitar as much as a piece of art.

Some may recall that a member of these Forums, who lives abroad, shares this philosophy and, along with his friends of equal mindset, put together a website wherein they shared what amounts to a rather impressive collection. His, in his own right, would likely fund someone's retirement plan quite nicely. 8)

So if one would play it, do you think it would hurt the resale?

Nigel Tufnel: Look... still has the old tag on, never even played it.

Marty DiBergi: [points his finger] You've never played...?

Nigel Tufnel: Don't touch it!

Marty DiBergi: We'll I wasn't going to touch it, I was just pointing at it.

Nigel Tufnel: Well... don't point! It can't be played.

Marty DiBergi: Don't point, okay. Can I look at it?

Nigel Tufnel: No. no. That's it, you've seen enough of that one.

Roughly the scenario which took place in my home sometime around '58 when a neighborhood kid brought his new blond Guild T-100DP to a jam. There's one in every crowd'.

You can imagine how this little twerp's attitude stuck with me seeing that I can still recall it after 55 years. I can close my eyes and still see him standing there. It was a big deal for him because another neighborhood kid named Paul Simon also owned one just like it. Those were the 'Tom and Jerry' years and we were all following that star with interest. Me and my '58 Strat got even with him one night at a 'sock hop', but that's a story for another day.

I was at the Club Allure on Queens Blvd about a year ago.
Seemed like a cool place.

Used to drive through that part of town going to and from a million places a gazillion years ago. That's right near the split where Queens Blvd passes over the Sunnyside Railroad yards heading into Queens Plaza and the lower roadway of the Queensboro Bridge. I could drive it blindfolded. 8)

As I recall the post-WWII migration to upward mobility, Brooklyn drivers became Queens drivers. Then they became Nassau and Suffolk County drivers. Then they retired and moved south to Broward and Palm Beach county Florida and still drive like they're from Brooklyn. Only now they can't see over the steering wheel. Driving blindfolded as usual.
