I am wanting to purchase a nitro vintage blonde Stratocaster with the intent of it becoming my beat up, relic guitar that I don't care about banging around. The 56 strat is pretty much the perfect body (although I wish it was a bit more blonde, like the classic vibe telecaster), but I don't like the thick, chunky neck. I love the road worn worn necks because of the satin finish and thinner profile, even though they are of lesser quality than the 56 neck.

Therefore:

1. Will a road worn neck fit right on a 56 AVRI strat body? (Without sanding or major adjustments)

2. I'm also considering the Olympic white 60s Road worn strat body, but I've never liked how that color on other strat models is actually too yellow, like a little baby girls room. I've never seen the road worn 60s Olympic white in person, but all the pictures on the Internet look more true white, with no yellow in them. Does anybody know if it's the same exact color as the poly Olympic white guitars (like the American Standard), or because it's nitro, is the Yellow-ish tone basically gone?

And a bonus question, in case any moderators know… Is there any chance that Fender is releasing a true Vintage Blonde road worn strat in 2016?

Thanks!

There are a few blondes e.g. Butterscotch blonde like Keiths tele, white blonde like the 56 avri, honey blonde like the v neck deluxe strat and vintage blonde like you see on some custom shop 56 strats. :D
In the case of nitro I have found it yellows over time.
I had a similar scenario to yours and picked up a custom deluxe blonde body and fitted a std deluxe neck neck to it , there's a pic of it somewhere on the forum.
Most strat necks are interchangeable but you can end up with a slight gap i.e. A not perfect fit.

All Stratocaster necks are interchangeable, with the exceptions of 4bolt/3bolt and regular/contoured heel.
But, as always, expect the unexpected; another neck may need some fitting, shimming etc. to be perfect.

First of all, don't trust computer screen pics. (To be exact, you can't even trust your eyes/brain - like, you always see snow as white, although it may be yellow, brownish, blue...)
In principle, poly/nitro/whatever Oly Whites are the same color. But a 100% match in colors is usually not achieved - different paints act differently. Nitro ages the most; thus the old Olympic Whites have turned yellow; thus the Vintage White to imitate that aged look.
BTW, I find a little contradiction in your wishes; "beat up relic" but the color should remain shiny white as new... (You could of course use a guitar cleaner with a mild abrasive compound regularly and often.)
The whitest white in Fender color charts is Arctic White.
Still, they all look great under stage lights - a white guitar can turn into blue, red, green etc. with different color bulbs.

A high quality neck that doesn't feel right vs a "lesser quality" neck that's just spot on - IMHO; no contest here.

Awesome responses guys. Thanks so much, and very helpful.

Looks like I'll get the road worn neck, with either the road worn body or a 56 blonde.

Nice!

Thanks!
