Yeah...I caved and bought the new Fender Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster.
In spite of all the endless negativity surrounding this poor, poor axe!
It is a very well made guitar......made by the same skilled Mexican hands that make
the much more expensive American counterparts.
My 2 1/2 changes to the guitar........the pickups, and a set of Graph Tech saddles.
And I changed the color scheme....from aged white to white..
I cannot deal with 60 cycle hum.....the pickups had to go.
Now that I have outfitted her with Noiseless pups.....she's perfect!

Here she is with my older MIM 60's Reverse Special (with a lefty American Special Rosewood board neck) that is also modded with Noiseless pups.

(I've got the Fender American Vintage 65 pickups that came with it up for sale on E-Bay in case anyone here wants them. PM me and I'll send you the link)

Congrats! Nice looking Strat in a classic color combination. Now you have the ability to go both ways...color wise!

Okay, very cool guitars for sure. Really ... but ... Hendrix Strats were flipped over to allow a lefty to play a right-handed Strat. And the Fender Hendrix-signature Strats just look odd to me because the body is not flipped over. Yes, the bridge pickup and headstock is reversed for a similar look, I guess. It just seems that it would look so much more "right" to have a lefty fully reversed, and restrung -- reverse body, reverse headstock, reverse pickups, AND a reverse (upside down) Fender logo. If I was such a Hendrix fan, I think I would more apt to do that than buy the Hendrix model. Even being "iconic", you could go with a black w/ small headstock & rw board (Monterey Pop) or cream colored w/ large headstock & maple board (Woodstock). I am just saying ... That all being said, I am sure the Hendrix models are great guitars.

You've certainly got logic on your side, but somehow I can't help but feel that Fender did the best thing here, in a way the most respectful thing to honor Hendrix.

But this is a righty talking, so what do I know.

Indeed. All of the tone and none of the hassle.

You can make all the 'authenticity' arguments there are......but the fact remains.
The authentic Hendrix tribute Fender put out years ago was uncomfortable, inconvenient and downright
clumsy to play!!
Jimi , being the immortal he was, made it work.
But for the rest of us poor schmo's out here.......comfort and convenience rules!!

I'm sorry....but I get arm cramps just looking at this!! The controls are way out of range...access to the upper frets
is restricted....blah..blah..blah...

Although....... Fender should have put this exact neck on a righty body....

I think you put the nail on the head. Fender is looking to sell guitars. LOTS of them. And having a reverse body will turn off the hordes, which -- I am guessing -- the previous Hendrix tribute verified. So Fender went back to the drawing board to answer "what can we do to make the Hendrix guitar more appealing from a player standpoint to make this a better seller"? Hence, the new cropping. In light of all that, I don't know the numbers, but they likely succeeded ...
