Hi there everyone. I bought a new Fender Stratocaster and a new amp. Is this a good guitar? Yes it is to me. I got it for a great deal so I pulled the trigger. Don't mind the amp it's for my metal tunes. But the Strat sounds great on it with clean or dirty sounds. I love my new Strat and the price I paid was great. The amp is pretty nice as well. Let me know what you think? I miss this site. Good to back on chatting with you all again. Hope all is well. Wish me the best with it my good friends!

I got this Strat for like $699 and totally love it. It's listed retail on the sticker said $1200. Also I own a few Gibson LP's that are very nice. I have a nice collection of guitars and amps in my arsenal.

And the place I bought from was going out of business. It's saddens me that music stores are dropping off the face of the earth. It's all those online retailers destroying them. How can someone buy a guitar online and be able to have a feel for it. Makes no sense to me. I would never buy a guitar online. Amps and other accessories yes. But not a axe.

Congratulations! What a deal and a beautiful guitar. Buying local would always be my preference. Where I live, the fact remains that most local stores don't have what I want, not willing to offer any financing and charge almost 10% in sales tax. Here's my additional thoughts not worth $.02. I would rather test drive a 70lb amp and walk out the door with a functioning, heavy, and expensive piece of equipment, knowing that if anything goes wrong (which it will), I can bring it back. A high quality new Fender electric guitar is something I view different. I'll get slammed this, but they're all the same. In the off chance there's something wrong or you don't like the color, send it back. It's only 20 pounds. Acoustic is a way different thing, but that's just me. :)

So I want make sure this is a 2013 model and the stock head I have US13 plus other numbers. So I'm thinking this Strat is from 2013? Is that how I know the year on Fender guitars? Thanks!

Yes, that would be a MIA 2013 model. I have a 2014 American Standard Strat with US14.

I was of the view that I wouldn't buy a guitar "unplayed" but I now have two on line purchases which I am very pleased with. Granted both were specials, in one way or another, so it is unlikely I could have tried them at one of my local music stores any way.

In many respects it is no different to commissioning a CS guitar or getting something through Fenders new configurator. You agree the spec and it's your guitar. If you then don't like it, well tough. At least if you don't like an on line guitar you can send it back.

Back to the OP that was certainly an awesome buy. While miles away from a spec I would have chosen myself (SSS, maple neck, 2 post trem) I too would have snapped it up for that money.

The Blackstar amp is incredible. The cleans are amazing and soothing to the ear. The dirty is just that mean with attitude. I own amps from Peavey, EVH 5150 III, Randall and Marshall's. My two favorites are my Blackstar and EVH. Both kick some serious butt. I just need a month off from work to just play my gear and chill. Been busy this holiday season. If I compare my EVH 5150 III to the Blackstar there's really no winner both are sick in tone. Both have their own personality of tone. My EVH 5150 III is the 50W mini head with 2x12 cabinet and it's got great tone at low volumes. But when you kick in the EVH to high volumes it will melt your face just as the Blackstar would do. And it's crisp and you hear every note. It's made by Fender for Eddie Van Halen so it's good. I love it!

But this Blackstar is simply amazing. It does it all it has more features to play with and using foot pedals with makes it even better as long as you have the right foot pedals to use with it. But that's like any amp. Blackstar makes some nice stuff. Great quality and well built.

The Fender Strat is amazing with tone and grace. I'm so happy with it. The neck is so smooth. The feel is deepening. And the tone is off the hook on any of my amps, makes playing beautiful and rich. I love it. That's about all I can say. Happy riffing man!
