Ah, Valentine's Day thirty years ago. I took my girlfriend at that time out to Red Lobster and got her some chocolates. And she? She surprised me with this:

A brand spanking new made in the USA Fender Stratocaster. Wow.

I don't have her anymore but I still have my Strat. And after thirty years of buying guitars, that Strat is still the best guitar I own.

Funny thing, I frequent many guitar forums, but this is the one I visit least. That's because there is really never a problem or a question regarding my Strat. The Strat was absolutely perfect thirty years ago and absolutely perfect today.

Beautiful, man. I have always had a soft spot for Black Strats with Rosewood fretboards. It reminds me of the first Strat I ever bought, this late '65 I bought in 1967.

She's still my favorite guitar and looks, plays and sounds great 50 plus years later.

Now that’s a Black Strat! The pick guard, pickup covers and even the headstock. Very cool, Mike.

Yeah, black is a fantastic look on a Strat.

I wonder if it is thee look for a Strat. Many guitars have a signature color:
- Rickenbacker has the FireGlo,
- Gibson SGs have that cherry red,
- Gretsch 6120s has to be orange

What (if any) is the signature color for a Strat. I say BLACK!

It is for me, although I think the 2 and 3 Color Sunbursts for the 50s and 60s respectively would be the top choices for the Strat.
But hey, I have always been a nonconformist so Black it will be! (With a dash of Surf Green and Sonic Blue on the side.)
