Hi

New user here and not sure this is the right place to ask this question but here we go.

I have a Custom Shop Strat and would like to sell it. The problem I have is I have differing opinions of what it's worth.

Before I start posting images and full descriptions am I in the right place for this sort of question?

Many thanks

It's against Fender's AUP to sell stuff through the forum.
If all you want is an opinion on value then you're ok.

Yes I’m just after unbiased opinion not to sell it through here. I have been given some varied opinion from shops and I’m a little confused.

Yes, as new, no marks, original case, certificate, strap, lead. I’ll post some pictures.

Yes,

Can I post pictures here? I’m away at the moment but have some and I know the model. It’s a http://www.fendercustomshop.com/retired-models/ 2012 custom deluxe Strat model number 150-9952-851. I’ve checked with Fender and Abby wound the pickups for this run of guitars.

You'll have to host the image on a site that allows hotlinking like Imgur and post it here using the BBCode IMG command.
The forum does not support file attachments/uploads.

I think the forum is running on a TRS-80 Model 4 in Brad's tool shed :D

I'd agree that 2-3K is going to be there or there abouts. Reverb is probably the best place to trawl for comparisons.

When you consider you can buy new Custom Shop guitars off the peg in the UK for just over £3K (£=$'s in the International guitar world), subject to specification, I don't think you will get over that. The trouble with CS guitars is there are so many fakes out there that people are going to be inclined to go with the comfort and assurance of buying new. No disrespect to you intended but any buyer will have the thought in his mind that he may be taking a gamble and, as such, his/her gamble has to be worth their risk. I don't think I would be tempted over £1.5K "just in case".

Any shop is going to under value the guitar as their only interest is in buying the guitar off you and selling it on to make a profit.

Many thanks. It does have a lovely quilted body and neck. The bonus on this must be the Abby wound pickups which you can’t get on a new one as I understand Abby retired?

The bonus on this run of CS Strats is the Abby wound pickups. I believe Abby has retired so you can’t get these from new anymore.

One look at it I n the flesh it would be enough to Know it’s not a fake and I would be happy for it to be inspected. I’ve also verified my guitar with Fender themselves and I have the very (but guess that can be faked).

I’m on Reverb quite a bit and there is one in Canada very similar. I will advertise it through there as I never trust somewhere like eBay as much.

Thank you so much for the response and to everyone who is guiding me, I do really appreciate it.
