True. However, a Tonemaster VibroChamp would be nice for my living room.

Why not just drop an 8-ohm speaker into a standard Champ or Vibro Champ? Doubling the impedance load would be nearly akin to halving the 6-watt output down to a manageable three watts.

Reality check.

The CyberTwin and CyberDeluxe sold pretty well for a year or two. Buddy Guy endorsed the CT and talked about how they had captured tube tone.

People are always going to line up to buy "the next big thing" from Fender. And they're always gonna be in love during the honeymoon.

It's way too early to think of expanding the TM line. A year from now the TMs may be just another footnote in Fender history.

This is always a possibility of course. I merely speculated on Fender's follow-on strategy should this new platform succeed. Skeptic that I am, I *AM* hopeful that the TM line will prove to be a winner because Lord knows, FMIC has laid too many eggs in the recent past. I'd like to see this endeavor pan out and if it does, it'd be foolish to not have a plan. I guess we'll all see soon enough......

The problem with the Cyber Twin wasn't that they weren't reliable or didn't sound good it was their complexity. They tried to do too many things. With the Tonemaster they aren't trying to do anything other than be an alternative to a tube powered Deluxe or Twin. I wish them luck. From what I've been told the Cyber Twin sold pretty well for several years but because of the amount of engineering cost it never was a real moneymaker for Fender. Maybe Tonemaster amps will be different.

An eminently practical example of the "KISS" principle.
